re: Organic Milk
it is, but also lasts twice as long
(friggin expensive)
I do not buy it to look at it in my refrigerator.
It is the only organic thing that we buy, and it is now and again. ...
re: Those with children: how much are you saving per child for college?
Posted by BayouSizzle on 1/31/16 at 6:09 pm
$400/month for each of them since birth. I stop once balance + time value to their FR year hits 75% of a 4-yr public university (tuition, room & board) estimate.
If they want 100% or if they want private, they will hopefully work hard for it...and may have to make an ROI/debt decision.
P.S....
Organic Milk

Tastes better. Its the only organic anything where I actually notice a different taste. Its not close, and it is much better (and friggin expensive...but that is post for another day).
Now, is that truly an organic thing or is the formulation different, too?

re: Financing a purchase via 0 interest credit cards

If 15-month or less term is all you need, why not just delay the purchase for 15-months, save up your $ for your purchase during that time, and then purchase outright...
If your intent is to have it paid off end of that period anyways...

re: Baton Rouge dog parade today
Posted by BayouSizzle on 1/31/16 at 11:00 am
Went to one in Covington yesterday. Stayed 1 hour. Heard exactly 2 barks, and that was 2 more than the number of dog terds that I saw.
Those were not real dogs. Pampered. Child-like.
Wow....
By FAR the worst drunken mess of a parade I have ever been too.
How many parades do you go to in a typical year? At post face value, seems like not many. Like by FAR...not many....

My family and I enjoyed it. It is basically Eve moved to downtown Covington where I can make regular Tap Room runs. And, we enjoyed Eve a lot, too.

re: Someone explain the appeal of Mardi Gras to me
Mardi Gras is not a parade. Mardi Gras is not girls flashing on French Quarter balconies. Mardi Gras is not an alcoholic binge.
Mardi Gras is bars and restaurants changing out all the CD's in their jukeboxes to Professor Longhair and the Neville Brothers, and it is annual front-porch crawf...

N. CA once. Beautiful. Lots to do. Great weather, by and large. But, too many plastic people hooked on the material world...for my liking. Great visit. Not great life (for my go at life).

re: Mandeville, Madisonville, Covington, Public or Private School

I did both.
My daughter did public school in Mandeville K - 2nd (until her classmates discussed their Daddy's hookers, unkept kids were passing on sickness and indian fire joys).
My son did public in Texas and has been private in LA 1st - 3rd.
I believe public, the right one, works in prima...

Honestly, had you ever heard of "Nick Saban" before his arrival to LSU
Posted by BayouSizzle on 1/24/16 at 6:26 pm
Admittedly, I was not wowed by his replacement of Gerry DiNardo at LSU. Nuttin 'special at the time.
Perhaps I missed some facts at that point in time. Perhaps not.
If not, perhaps LSU had as much to do with his brand today as anything before his arrival to LSU.
What say you?...
