Sporting events. Seattle is only a two hour flight though.

I don't think I have or will ever meet another person who was not born here and will say would like to live in Louisiana. That says a lot

Lived in PA, NY, NJ, and now LA

Northeast states: Lacked warm weather and nice beaches, snow got to me after syracuse(plus the jersey shore is alright but Fl beaches are much better). Great things: close to NYC, Philly, DC, sporting events, decent skiing in the poconos or adirondacks

Louisiana: Lacks beaches, skiing, fall foliage. Great things are fishing, food, warm weather

Lived in Louisiana and Tennessee (Gatlinburg)

Tennessee:

Pros: Seasons, White-water rafting, Great Golf, Hiking

Cons: Snow sucks, food is bland, hard to find seafood, 12 hours from LSU games and family, no Mardi Gras, my ex-wife lives there.

Louisiana:
Pros: Family, LSU, fishing, hunting, great food, music, and culture

Cons: hiking sucks and summers are oppressive

Louisiana: any outdoor activities requiring elevation. Unfortunately those are the most fun ones.

If you don't leave the state, is it really traveling anyway?

Live in Boston. The only thing that comes to mind that's missing is college football. Which is a big negative, but it's why God invented bars and TVs.

Coming from Oklahoma, especially if you are not in Eastern Oklahoma, that is funny.

Kansas: no beaches, mountains, natural bodies of waters, thick woods, inconsistency of seasons/weather, inadequate amount of public lands.

Pros: Abundance of wildlife, cost of living, low crime, no traffic, quality golf, Flint Hills, sunsets.

I'm assuming you don't live in New Orleans? I have plenty of friends here who grew up out of state.

Anyway, Louisiana lacks a beach, mountains, 4 actual seasons, good roads , big cities, and a diverse natural environment.

I love the music, food, and people of Louisiana, though.

Some of the best variety of outdoor activities in this country.

Beautiful scenery, more waterfalls you can count, and several different ecosystems.
