You can buy apps from the iTunes store and transfer them to your iPhone, but you also can buy them from the App Store through your phone. There are definitely benefits to having all Apple products, but not having them doesn't really impact you negatively. That being said, there's nothing wrong with Android and you're already invested in the Android ecosystem. I can't really think of why you'd want to switch unless you just liked the features of the iPhone better. They do have nice cameras and the fingerprint sensor supposedly works very well while all I've heard about Android fingerprint sensors is that they don't. So there are some reasons to switch, but they're pretty specific.

I don't drink coffee anymore because it makes me irritable, but what is Coffee from Cups?

Cups is a coffee chain here in the Jackson Metro Area. Best coffee I've ever had. It's so good I drink it black.

I'm assuming Cups is the name of the chain.

They have flavors from all over the world.

One flavor you can only buy by the bag during Christmas. It's called Jamaican Blue. It is coffee that only grows on one mountain in Jamaica. My wife buys me a bag every year.

Well, I don't know if I'm invested in Android. I just have my Google Drive and my Google Apps for Business. Does Apple support that?

I'm sorry. I'm not very tech savvy.

ETA: what's sad is I'm not old, and I know so little about this stuff.

Check this out - are you sitting down? - maybe he made it because he's excited that these features are coming to the phone that he likes.

Nope nope nope. He was definitely boasting.

He made a thread about an Apple product. Definitely boasting.

I've never used them, but they do have quite a few Google apps including Google Drive, GMail, and Google Docs.

It'd be nice if the Tech Board could be more Tech and less OT though.

some topics are going to do that. and when either apple or android thread are started like this one with "ALL NEW FEATURES" with something that is used on the other platform, you are going to get this.

But either way, what is it about the Androids that makes them so much better? I know you can customize more, but literally the only issue I hold with the iphone(or apple in general) would be attaching files with gmail. Well, that and getting a direct image code for posting on tOT.
So what are you customizing on your phone that makes the switch worth it? I'm genuinely asking because as stated, I may be switching phones here soon. And referring back to your original comment, all of the tops phones tend to be about the same price under contract, so this leads me back to customization being the only reason to switch.

While "customization" is a selling point, it's not just a visual thing. Yes, I like my phone to look a certain way, but I also like it to work a certain way. I need it to work the way I think, and iOS does not.

A lot of iOS folks like to tease Android users about widgets, but then get excited when they get a limited set of widgets that work in a limited way. I use lots of widgets, and they let me get things done twice as fast as if I had to shuffle through apps.

iOS just feels clunky and clumsy compared to Android. That's why Android is better for a lot of us.
