See, an I'm cool with this. Come in here and have a damn logical discussion about it. This isn't the OT. I'm fine with having a differing opinion on things and I'm genuinely interested in both sides of the aisle, but when you come in here and act like a child, GTFO.

Come on now, you frequent the gaming board, you have to know not to take UH seriously. Everything he said about you with apple is him with Sony. He's just a kid, he'll mature eventually(this coming from someone who is probably the same age as him).

To be honest, that's the biggest misconception about Apple products and iTunes. People think you absolutely have to use iTunes to do anything Apple related and that's just not true. You can buy and iPhone or iPad and never once use the desktop version of iTunes.

Also, you don't "have to have" all Apple products for them to work. They've just designed an ecosystem where if you have an iPhone and MacBook, it just works in sync perfectly. You don't absolutely need to have all of it, but if you do, that's really where their programming and interconnectedness shines.

Where do you store your music now?

And you don't need to buy all Mac computers because you have an iphone. My home comp is a PC.

Oh I know he's an idiot but honestly the first 10 responses I received were all "ohhhh Apple fanboi shutup lolz".

And yeah, it's such a stark difference bc I'm on his side with PS4 but I've seen his decrees on this topic that make me cringe

I use iTunes ONLY for purposes of transferring music and iPhone backup. If you do your music through another app like Spotify, you may not need to use iTunes at all. I probably use iTunes about 6 times a year, although I don't update my music often. iPhones being proprietary is really overstated. You also don't need Mac desktops. I don't have any. Is there a benefit to it? Sure, the new cloud sync up coming in iOS8 where you can start typing something on your phone and finish it on your desktop or vice versa sounds pretty cool. But it's not remotely close to necessary for to use your iPhone like any other phone.

shite. I don't even have music. I thought ITunes was their all-in-one thing for music, apps, and stuff.

shite. Now I just feel rather silly. Well, I'm glad y'all finally told me.

What Brettesaurus said.

I've never owned a Mac or an iPad and I rarely use iTunes (I still like iTunes for syncing my music but that's more habit than anything).

The iPhone just suits me because it does what I need and does it very well. The trade off is that I don't get to customize the OS but as of now it's one I'm willing to make.

And to anyone on the fence, honestly, this is the only thing you should care about. Does it work for you. Not who did what feature first or whatever goofy shite fanboys on both sides like to argue about.

I paid $99 for my phone and how am I bragging?

It blows my mind that y'all care so damn much about what kind of phone people have and actually judge people based off their phones. It's pathetic.

I use iTunes for music and the App Store app on the phone for apps. I plug my phone into my computer maybe once a year to backup my contacts.

the creator of this thread, made it to seemingly boast about *new* apple features - just lol

regardless, I dont think anyone truly *cares* which phone another person uses- this is just a message board after all- im not out parading in the streets advocating for people to switch to android, etc.

i used to own an iPhone as well, fwiw

Well, in these terms, I would say its impossible to distinguish as taste is a matter of opinion. I used to hate Starbucks till I tried it. Now it's the only coffee I'll pay for(which still isn't often).

I haven't had CC yet though and hear its good.

But either way, what is it about the Androids that makes them so much better? I know you can customize more, but literally the only issue I hold with the iphone(or apple in general) would be attaching files with gmail. Well, that and getting a direct image code for posting on tOT.
So what are you customizing on your phone that makes the switch worth it? I'm genuinely asking because as stated, I may be switching phones here soon. And referring back to your original comment, all of the tops phones tend to be about the same price under contract, so this leads me back to customization being the only reason to switch.

Check this out - are you sitting down? - maybe he made it because he's excited that these features are coming to the phone that he likes.

Exactly. To me, the choice between the two boils down to a singular question..
Do you want the option of having 10 different ways to do the same thing? Because as far as I can tell, the main reason people like their android phones so much is that reason. They go download a very specific messaging, mail, music app that suits their needs specifically.
The reason I like iOS so much is because there's a singarory among their entire product line. They have one app and it incorporates their design and style throughout. I don't want to have to choose between that much stuff. Why does it have to be that if you can't customize every little detail about it, it's a sheep product. Uhhhh no? Sorry for liking the way someone designs a product and their philosophy on the subject.

Both Starbucks and CC have garbage coffee.

If y'all had one cup of Coffee from Cups, I swear it will change your mind.
