This sounds like a question for the phone company. That box is their property I'm pretty sure. They own everything up to that box, you own everything from that box in your home.

ETA: and while a phone line doesn't carry a heavy load, it can carry a current, just FYI.

AT&T is your most likely source.

It's probably illegal to not have a telephone hook up on your house. I know you have to have water and electricity. Fascists I tell you.

ETA: Why would you paint over that awesome brick?

looks like the tuckpoiniting is recent

but painting brick is not popular

I could see polyeurethane to seal it from moisture...but I never asked anyone.

did you bother to inquire with commercial masons as to proper care of brick? and their thoughts on painting brick!!!

You should use acrylic instead on that brick.

That is the incorrect paint.

Just put the telephone interface back on the wall and paint it (and all that other stuff as well) the same color you are painting the brick.

Your house looks about as old as mine with that Gulf States Utility sticker on your electric meter.

I'd love more info about how you are painting the brick. Ours is a similar red color, but is not nearly as nice as what you have.

Probably about right. We had ours painted several years ago, and left the brick alone but had the shutters, windows, and wood siding on the back and sides done. I think it was 3,500 or 4,000. But he priced it based on the number of windows (old wooden windows) and then the square ft of the siding. Lots more time on taping and prep work on the windows than rolling the siding.

House is 3942 SF and they are painting entire home, which includes lots of stucco and hardi board. I'd say for the brick it would be about 6-7k
