Outside backs - Clyne, Moreno as starters. Flano - once healthy as a primary back-up both sides. I think we will have to keep Enrique another year.
Wisdom can play rb. I'm still hoping we keep manquillo for. Overage and to give him another year. I though he did ok last year and would have liked to see him get more game time once we switched back to a back four.
My priority for this window has been met - buy at least a few guys that instantly inprove our starting XI. I would say we have three already that do that in Clyne, Milner and firmino.
We do that every year - we will be in the mix for top 4 annually.

Lacazette may be a dream- but they are dicking around on him for wages right now. They old him over 4m euro And offered under 4 a year. It's likely posturing by his agent, but it's an opening. If we have any sort of offer that can lure him, we can open up the possibility.
Is the 4m he's paid in France before or after the obscene fench tax on wages over 1m?

Though it's important but not nearly as a striker/RB, I hope we address the DM position sooner than later. Lucas and mix of Can/Hendo can cover that for a year or two but we should be thinking of who that next person is. I'd be okay with a "project" at this position by buying young.

I think its time to face facts and that is either a) Rodgers doesn't believe in the DM role or b) He believes we already have a capable one on the squad.. Lucas is obvious, I'm guessing that may be where we utilize Can.
If it's a), I hope Klopp is available in January.. if it's b) I hope it's Can and that he plays him there exclusively and lets him develop.. I could live with that. Playing in a MF 3 with Hendo and Milner doing a lot of the dirty work too, may help.

So glad we bought him. Huge reason we stayed up. Guy was brilliant during run in.

I always liked Seba and though he really didn't get a fair shot... He did have some poor moments, which may have led to that, but I hope he does really well...
Now come back in with that £14mm for Borini

That ship sailed off the edge of the world when we canned Gus.

I always liked Seba

i'm praying we can get half that for him, at this point.... it's obvious we don't have him very highly rated, which will just further drive down any negotiable fee for him...

yeah, I was joking... I'm guessing he's probably heading back to italy for peanuts..

Starting to wrap my head around the idea of Benteke here... It seems that he is BR's guy... I don't think we pay the full asking price, but Im getting the feeling he'll be here in the end... personally, I think £20mm is about right, but if (and when) we pay over... well, it aint my money..
I don't think he's Andy Carroll 2.0, I think he's a much better player, but will he fit in BRs system? I think he can... He plays a lot with belgium linking up with KDB and Hazard.. I can't say Ive watched them a whole lot though
Would he start over a fully fit DS in a 1 striker system? Or would we opt to play 2 up top? When fully fit, it looks like we'll have a lot of options in attack..

I think Sturridge and Benteke would play well off each other.

Looks like Bacca is no longer an option.. Appears headed to Milan..
Can't say I'm really disappointed though

I kind of am. I think he's the best out of the realistic targets. Doesn't break my heart though.

If we sell Sterling to City and get the 45-50 mil we are asking, I am down with blowing most of that, if not all, on Lacazette. Make him an offer he WON'T refuse. I want Lacazette in red THAT bad.

I think we've already blown it.

Have I missed him resigning with his club or something?

So, being bored this morning and thinking... looking at our current attacking personnel, assuming Sterling is gone and we bring in another striker that can compete with Studge as our main striker (when healthy)... Also, with our current crop of MF'ers...
I wonder if our players are best suited to play some variation of those classic Ancelotti Milan teams
Now, I'm not trying to say that our players are of that level... but I think it suits us.. maybe even more so if we bring in a player like Asier Illarramendi to play the Pirlo role (still being linked)... let Milner, Can, and Hendo (and Allen) fight it out for the two other spots, with rotation..
the Brazilians (Lallana and Markovic too) playing behind Studge or new signing...
Just a thought...
