According to this site, he's coming back to the US not to return to MLS but to hold talks with Everton. I think Everton would be a good fit for Duece; he's just not athletic enough for Spurs.

What do you think the reason is, then? I love Deuce and the giant head cracks me up every time but realistically he just doesn't fit in very well with the team that Spurs have.
AVB prizes athleticism, and speed, speed, speed. He loves the high line, pressing up the pitch and wants to attack a la Barcelona, or maybe Bayern now.
I think Everton (if this is true) would be a great spot for him.

I'm pretty confused by this move. If he wanted to be closer to home wouldn't he have chosen Houston or Dallas? Unless he's trying to follow Donovan's lead by staying in the MLS and trying to put it on the map. Not sure how I feel about our best player moving to the MLS a year out from the world cup.
