Soo, Luiz is on his way out.

The back line is going to look a lot different in the next couple years. JT will be gone in a year. Cole is leaving. Ivanovic probably moving to CB, opening up a spot at LB/RB, whichever one Azpi doesn't fill.

Hopefully we can use this money to get us the striker we want though

We already bought his replacement. Kurt Zouma. Yes, let's get an actual striker.

is the future.

Anxious to see who fills in for JT/Cahill when they're taking breaks. Kalas got some action late in the year and didn't look bad

What about this Eliaquim Mangala guy? 23 yo French CB. Something on ESPN the other day about City wanting him but he preferred Chelsea. Is there mutual interest there and does anyone know anything about him?

We already have Kurt Zouma, I don't want to turn into Newcastle with a bunch of Frenchies.

Zouma looks to have a huge upside... Physical specimen..

Porto are wanting north of £30 for Mangala and the few times I've seen him, he doesn't seem worth that at all...

I don't see a need to add many defenders. We have a ton on our U21 and even more on loan. All of that isn't even considering guys like Bertrand. I'm really only concerned with striker and gk. We have to have a top striker and the GK situation can shape this team for a long run at the top.

You still think Oscar is our #10 for the future?

I need to see him play better than he did the 2nd half. So now that Lamps and Cole are gone along with Luiz, who is our next CLL?

I could see Cahill getting it

Man it's sad to watch this era of legends slowly fade away. Drogba, Essien, Cole, Lamps and soon Terry and Cech.

I think Cahill takes over short term for Terry and hopefully one of the young guys (personally I hope Chalobah) can take over in 3-4 years and be that guy for the next 10 years. Probably highly unlikely though.

Maybe Shaw if we buy him. English and Chelsea lad. Can't see there ever being another true CLL like the one we have though.

I am aware PSG has unlimited funds these days, but why on earth pay that for Luiz? Thiago Silva didn't even get that 2 years ago and he's top 5 defender. I guess they'll offer Hazard $100m in the coming weeks

yep again.

I could see Cahill or possibly Azpi taking it. Cech if he stays. Maybe Matic.

$84 million transfer for Luiz... As much as I would have loved to keep him, I am happy to let him go for that kind of fee. Now I am interested to see where we spend the money and who we replace him with... Need to add a DM to the roster now.

Yes, it is. For a 27 year old defender that is a loose canon at CB but a dynamic DM/CM. He is a strong player but worth nowhere near that kind of money, IMO.

Nope. And he wasn't even regularly cracking the starting XI for Jose. Mou loves Cahill and Jt, and Matic/Ramires have worked those two holding mid spots pretty well (Matic, exceptionally well). I love the guy, love the personality, love watching him play, but for that much money, I'll survive

This. His pure joy, just in life, was awesome. He's a big kid that really appreciates the life he has learned. It's sad to see him go, but again, that money makes it easier. It also doesn't hurt that he went to PSG. I don't have to hate him.
