Lukaku for starters.

So you think, right now, that Lukaku is better than Cavani?

I think given a full season to be the man he would be just as productive as Cavani yes and his age and upside and the fact he is already on our team make him easily a superior option for Chelsea.

I mean he did just as well as Cavani this year playing in a much more difficult league with much less supporting cast.

Lukaku won't have the getting used to the pace and tenacity of the League. Also, Cavani had Ibra playing off of him.

I'll disagree on the supporting cast. Lavezzi and Pastore are as good as what Chelsea has.

He wasn't even playing CF. I want Lukaku to stay as much as you do, but saying Lukaku is as good, right now, as Cavani is silly.

I can't really chime in to this conversation because my bias in favor of the Kraken will get in the way of any logical argument. All I will say is that I hope he returns to Chelsea, somehow, some way, next season. Hope he kills it in Brazil.

I was talking about what Lukaku was working with at Everton being less than what Cavani was working with at PSG.

I couldn't have been any more underwhelmed by Cavani's performance in the CL. His dundering is the main reason we got past PSG.

He obviously has a longer history of production because he is much older than Lukaku but if you look at what Lukaku has done in the situations he has been in the last two years I think it'd be hard pressed to argue Cavani would have done any better.

Ultimately, for this discussions sake, it comes down to the fact that the difference between the two is nowhere near enough to justify bringing in Cavani at the cost of moving Hazard.

Ibra had Cavani playing off of him. Blanc inisted on throwing Cavani out right all year to support Ibra.

I love Romelu, and he has a ton of potential at CFC, but there is really nothing that he does as well Cavani right now.

Yeah, Cavani sacrificed goals this year by having to play out wide and he still did ok.. Hence, him considering leaving..

That def wasn't his best outing in the 2nd leg against you guys... Agreed.

That said, I don't know what Jose's aversion to Lukaku is

The only thing I've seen is he didn't like his attitude after missing the PK that lost us the shootout to Bayern but I don't even know if there is any truth to that or just something random I read on the Internet. I also highly doubt that that one instance would be enough to turn Jose off from him forever.

Jose is not going to make many people happy if he ships off Lukaku right after sending Mata packing. I hope he knows what he's doing because if he keeps sending all our young talent, and fan favorites, away he better win the Prem or the CL next year or even he is going to start feeling a lot of heat I think.

i'm a little impressed he didn't feel any heat this year. avram, rafa, RDM, et al probably feel differently than "impressed".

Hmmmm. You are aware that we have had yellow before, right?

ETA:In fact, Chelsea used yellow before Arsenal.

I mean he just didn't have enough to work with though that is partly his fault. Winning every major league in Europe and multiple European Cups buys you at least a year to figure out though.
