I don’t think we can play a back 3 with these 3 guys but I think these are our best XI.

3-5-2
Turner
Robinson/Zimmerman/Dest
Reyna/Musah/Adams/McKennie/Aaronson
Pulisic/Weah

I mean yeah that’s probably our best 11 players, but this ain’t fifa

A “back 3” is 3 center backs. Robinson and Dest are wingbacks by trade. That lineup would see us bounced from the group while conceding the most goals in World Cup history

Walker plays as a CB for England despite being a fullback for City.

I will say I wouldn’t be optimistic with Dest there.

Turner
Dest Zimm Ream Jedi
Adams
Musah Aaronson
Gio Weah Puli

Bring Weston on for BA, or move BA to wing and sub Gio or Tim.

Adams has to cover Dest and 2 slower CBs. He's our most important player.

I get very excited about this lineup. Gets our best players on the field together for the first time.

I also get nervous that collection of players has never all played together.

Weah is such a perfect winger though. I would go with a different false nine, if possible.

Yep, and the metrics say Weah is actually pretty awful when receiving the ball in the middle of the pitch. While he does play striker in a 4-4-2 for Lille at times, his coverage map is still that of a winger.

One thing is for sure, we need to play a double pivot with Musah next to Adams and McKennie as the 8 in front. That's one adjustment Gregg has made in the last year that I think we can all unequivocally say was a good move.

Haha I like it. I actually think Aaronson or Reyna could do ok as a false 9. Or have Pulisic, Reyna, and Weah as the front 3 and have them free flowing to find where the space is. I don't like trying new things for the WC tho. We should have given it a go when none of the 9s did shite for the last few years.

I dont know, I dont want to burn the wingers out. All of them have incredible pace.

It's probably a moot point b/c Jesus will get majority of minutes.

Weah played left back and did it well for Lille.

LINK

Could we see him there if Dest isn’t ready to start?

You say that but Gregg definitely said that his Pepi decision came down to Pepi or Jesus; hinting that Sargent was already on the team.

Not sure I truly believe that but we can always hope.

Posting the Fotmob for one game against the worst team in Ligue 1 isn’t exactly going to convince me that we should start one of our best attacking options at RB

I think on current form this is probably our strongest lineup.
