All other minorities have economic pride and value independence. Hispanic cultures VALUE HARD work and self-reliance. Asian cultures VALUE education. What exactly does American black culture value? Honest question.

There were as many chinese slaves building the railroads as blacks in this country, does anyone know this? No, they don't,, because chinese people are living for today and tomorrow, not yesterday.

Here is a simple question to those who believe skin color is truly the end all be all detriment to minorities.....

Why is it -------- that African immigrants have far greater success in this country than African Americans?

African immigrants actually have DARKER skin color, yet do far better in education and business.

Education is very important to the Asian and Indian communities. Asian parents are very hard on their children to be successful.

This is one of the most accurate assessments I have seen on this board.

I have never said that Blacks need to have special treatment. But it is easily proven that many laws (particularly post reconstruction) were designed specifically to limit Black growth.

Yes. Personal responsibility is very important.

But you only focus on that once you have achieve equality by law (not equity) and the right to vote.

In the past 50 years, I would say Blacks have made good progress. There are black professionals in every field.

My point is why aren't we having asian protests or indian protests for equality? You're completely missing the point of this but to your point still, there are way more successful indians,asians,middle easterners in houston than there are african americans and thats with african americans making up a larger percentage of the population than those 3 groups put together probably. Anyhoo, why are these other minorities NOT PROTESTING for changes?
