President Trump will light the White House in blue on Monday night to honor fallen police officers, after his visit to Capitol Hill to memorialize officers killed in the line of duty.
"In humble appreciation of our hard-working law enforcement officers, Melania and I will light the White House in blue on May 15," Trump announced in a statement released shortly before his Capitol appearance.

I absolutely hate this symbolism over substance bull shite.
Stupid arse twisted ribbons, dumping of ice water on your head, etc etc.

Oh I agree...
I would still say that symbolism over substance is worthless.
I would add that lowering right to the same level of imbeciles and trash, does not achieve the goals moral people seek.
It also helps create a one-up-man-ship that never ends.
In the end it makes those institutions and ideals that made our country great look foolish.
