Demand meet supply. If illegals can't get jobs, they have little incentive to stay here or come here.

Seems to me we might be better off enforcing a mandatory e-verify system for all employers, and fund more resources to oversee and make sure companies aren't cheating.

It's bilingual education up to 8th grade now. (Used to be 5th grade)

They learn English so slowly over years and years of just fricking TV and going to school with kids who speak English.

My Mother came from Europe...had to learn English in one summer before school started in the Fall.

Because they taught school in ONE language back then...English.

Now it's Spanish, Korean, Chinese in California teaching math and science in those languages.

Like an earlier poster said, the problem is removing the incentive for them to come. Lots of big business people make lots of money off them. So, if we want to get rid of cheap, illegal labor, Ag lobby, Restaurant lobby, and many others who should be nowhere near any lawmakers will be pulling strings of their puppets to impede progress.

So simple 5 year olds can understand it, but not liberals.

Don't forget that the contractor hiring Juan now has significantly lower overhead, allowing him a huge advantage in bidding jobs. This will allos Juan's contractor to take market share from John's company until John is run out of business since his company legally cannot charge as little as Juan's employer.

The same is true with ag labor. The farmers pay less than minimum wage, so only illegals can work those jobs. If the illegals were rounded up, the produce would rot in the field because Americans literally cannot work for the rates farmers pay to pick crops. Farmers would have to pay more to hire Americans.
