There's a way to do this that would cost the taxpayer even less money than we're spending now, but all the small government conservatives called me stupid.

If you're interested in space travel and space based technologies then a dedicated military branch is something you'll want to see. They'll advance space-based technologies at an astronomical rate compared to a civilian agency.

This just seems like the polar opposite of a small government capitalist driven line of thinking no?

Damn, should have written my Congressman to insist upon naval rank instead of Army Air Corps derived Air Force rank. Admiral of the American Space Fleet sounds so much better than General of a Space fighter squadron!

The Brits are really good at this. First Lord of the Admiralty is hard to top.

I don't think sex will matter once we get those exoskeletons up an running.

No not really. NASA is a government civilian agency that still spends government money. When the military spends government money technology progresses at a much high rate. In any case, I'd tweak this plan just a tad and I think my idea would actually save money. It's on page two of this thread but I've talked about it many times on this board.

It will corrode esprit de corps, and men will make bad decisions when a woman's life is on the line.

Women have never been strong enough to be a warrior. Just look at history, only in the recent years have people baught into this feminist BS about women warriors. I don't mind them having a military desk job though, in fact they're quite good at it.

There aren't any non-heretical female space marines...Although the 3rd legion, the Emperor's Children may have some in the 40th century...
