Isn't it up to the localities as to whether they are sanctuary cities?

some of the shite you right wingers post on here is just fricking stupid.

First off, local and state law enforcement dont have authority to enforce federal immigration laws, hence the term federal. They are under no obligation to seek out immigration status information. Period.

Secondly, California is the 5th largest economy on the planet but yeah lets turn off Federal money and impose sanctions with one of our own.

Cant wait to see how many of you dumbasses agree with the OP

Yes. Federal law must be enforced. Either change the law or enforce it. You cannot have an orderly society when the laws are ignored at the highest levels.

Welp, you convinced me there baw. For my reference, could you include which federal laws we should be following, and which ones we should be ignoring?

I want to make sure I'm doing it right with the selective application of the Rule of Law solely based on partisan political view.

I don't think some of you realize how large the population of California really is...

Around 40 million I think.

What does that have to do with anything?

Spent the first 27 years of my life there. I'm very familiar with California. And I do not think the fed gov should cut funding. I find the ignorance of certain posters and the "California gives more than they get" comments hilarious. So I comment. Sorry if that offended you. No harm meant.

LULZ ... would love to see you try to explain that and make it make any sense whatsoever.

No, he claims that he would have won in California if he had campaigned there and since he'll end illegal immigration and send illegals back he's due to win California in 2020 since he will campaign there and prevent illegal immigrants from voting.

Why would he hurt a state he's going to win?

How so?

ETA: I ask because if it's voluntarily for taxpayers to pay the IRS what they owe for income taxes, I'm going to opt out.

Florida and Texas aren't even in the running..California, New York, Mass. These are the states funding the federal government. Texas is either a penny ahead or behind every year...it fluctuates but never by more than a penny or so on the dollar and Florida is a net recipient of federal taxes every year....

Texas is th only state in the entire country that has a rainy day fund/savings account

They actually put aside and SAVE money each year. What a novelty idea

Could not agree more.

That's not exactly how it works there buddy.

Exactly. No one in California government has the authority to seize property from or incarcerate Washington bureaucrats. The IRS, however, is very skilled at this

Bad idea. The midwestern states who swung red did so because ACA fricked them over, more or less. They've relatively no beef with immigrants. Taking any hard-line anti-immigrant action could very easily swing the Midwest right back to blue.

I suspect that if Republicans want to reduce illegal immigration, they'll have to simultaneously increase opportunities for legal immigration, or they'll lose this battle.

vice versa
the South can't pay its bills.
CA puts in $1.50 for every $1 they get back.
that extra money pays for military installations in S.C. and all kinds of federal programs throughout the south.

go ahead, make our day, set us free.

Absolutely, California is a fiscal mess. Their state policies and regulations make it impossible to utilize their natural resources.
