Yes, we are well aware that most of you are literally celebrating your hypocrisy. You fully supported the Republican congress' obstruction of Obama (and condemned any instance of compromise). Now you think it is outrageous that the Democrats are doing the same.

Not to politicians. They are desperate to keep their jobs and pay a lot of attention to polling. The more popular Trump is the easier it will be for him to convince Congress to get behind his policies and vice-versa.

When you call your opponent a hypocrite, it means the opponent is winning. They say swords are double-edged for a reason.

Won't matter. Nominee will be confirmed. The melt will continue.

In the two party system there will always be swings back and forth. How you conduct yourself when you are on the upswing can have a significant impact on how long you stay on top. Keep pulling your dicks out conservatives. We'll see you in a few years.

How many justices did Obama successfully get onto the SC again?

The Republicans followed the democrats playbook. The democrats now all of a sudden are so worried about payback. It is a bitch. They'll rue the day they left behind common decency.

And Democrats condemned the obstruction and now will use the same tactic to the applause of their base. Unfortunately that's the political world we now live in. Both sides are absolutely disgusting, and their supporters eat it up.

The challenge is how do we break the cycle? Or better said, how do we challenge our elected officials to break the cycle?

No it isn't. Adjourn the House and Senate for 10 days and you get a temporary recess appointment

I bet you don't remember the Dems telling W not to nominate anyone for the SCOTUS in his last 1 1/2 yrs bc they wouldn't have a vote on it......remember it now?

Let's not act like the Reps just dreamed all this shite up by themselves.

I admire the way Dems like Pelosi, Reid and Schumer fight for what they want.

I'm just thrilled now that my side finally has someone that does the same thing.
Go Trump go and let's make sure we do what's right for America while we can and people like Obama, Pelosi and Reid are outside looking in.

Finally we have someone who understands.

Well said. It is a tough cycle to break. I think for the purposes of this administration it is pretty clear the winning side has zero interest in unity. In the future, I would hope to see the winning side pivot to compromise and governing for everyone. The first week of Trump administration has been a straight up quest for revenge and has probably deepened divisions and confirmed moderate and left wing fears.

I think Obama made some attempts to compromise with the Republicans early on. It eventually became clear that the Republicans were not going to rubber stamp any healthcare reform at all. This was an impasse. He wasn't perfect but you would be lying if you said he didn't attempt to work with them at first.

Excellent news here. Keep fighting the good fight. If Republicans can do this for a year, then we will do it for 4 years.

Well if that's the compromise you want....
