You think politicians in Washington aren't obsessed with approval polling numbers?

The US Senate voted on Thursday to change the rules that have enabled Republicans to block Barack Obama's nominees for top administration posts.
By 52 votes to 48, senators approved along partisan lines a measure that would ban the use of the filibuster to prevent nominees from being confirmed.
In a speech in support of the measure, majority leader Harry Reid accused Republicans of blocking nominees in the pursuit of unrelated legislative goals.
"For the first time in the history of our republic, Republicans have routinely used the filibuster to prevent President Obama from appointing an executive team and from appointing judges," Reid said. "The need for change is so, so very obvious. It's clearly visible. It's manifest we have to do something to change things."
Until now, 60 votes have been required to lift or avoid a filibuster. Under the new rules, a simple majority of 51 would suffice. The new measure would not apply to supreme court nominees. "It's an undeniable fact that the obstruction we've seen in recent years is altogether new," Reid said after the vote.

Republicans have warned, however, that Democrats may regret the move when they next find themselves in the minority. "Some of us have been here long enough to know the shoe is sometimes on the other foot," minority leader Mitch McConnell said, on the Senate floor. "You'll regret this, and you may regret it a lot sooner than you think."
The article does say it does not cover Supreme Court nominations, but I find it funny nonetheless.

Or we could just save time and imagine he posted a link and then you respond with "fake news"/"fake polls".

A couple of those senators on the list are in their first term. They haven't been around long enough to earn as much cred back home with voters as a Joe Manchin.

well isn't that what the republicans did last year?

Anyone else sick of hearing talking heads say that Trump needs to compromise with the dims?

President Obama “regrets” filibustering the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito in 2006, his top spokesman said Wednesday, though he maintains that the Republican opposition to his effort to replace Justice Antonin Scalia is unprecedented.
“That is an approach the president regrets,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said.
Obama and the Democratic senators who joined him in filibustering Alito “should have been in the position where they were making a public case” against the merits of his nomination to the high court instead, Earnest said.
“They shouldn’t have looked for a way to just throw sand in the gears of the process," he added.

Nope.
If Obama would have nominated Pryor, he would have sailed through,

Let the cocksuckers do this and tell them they better get 60 dim senators to ever get a dim nominee seated
Posted on 1/30/17 at 12:25 pm to Sentrius

Latest Gallup poll has 43% approve 50% disapprove. Even Rasmussen's tracking poll has Trump's approval dropping.

Nuclear option will get it done. Thanks to POS Harry Reid for making this possible. What goes around, comes around Harry.

I didn't vote for him, but I approve so far.
Mostly because of the complete meltdown of the press and Hollywood.
And people like you.
It's been very fun to watch people prance around in pussy suits disillusioning themselves into thinking their making a stand. When all you're doing is emboldening Trump supporters ( and even those who didn't vote for him )
None of you learned from the election.
Which, I suppose (for Trump, anyways) is a good thing.

Was Garland even officially nominated?
Either way, Republicans would not have needed to filibuster.
