Hey Toddy,

How does a judge's personal belief concerning the age of the earth impact your life?

Why has the Democratic Party always been obsessed with race? They switched from promoting racist policies to labeling everything they don't like as racist.

I'm concerned about the supplemental materials being brought in to aid in "critical thinking".

What supplemental materials?

If taught well, can they not discern what is truth? Is that not the point of developing "critical thinking" skills? If they are not thinking for themselves then are they really even thinking? Or possibly (possibly) simply regurgitating what they have been taught with no critical analysis of the material?

The OP asked a question of southern democrats. Why are you posting here? Don't you have cars in your front yard to attend to?

That's called ad hominem. Can you make through a single post without committing a logical fallacy?

Let me see if I can try this again....

I do not want idiots making life and death decisions on the court.

Is that simple enough for you?

Micro or macro evolution?

Let me drop this off here for those who would like an honest look at the discussion of evolution and creation from a renowned scientist (who is a non-believer). He has tremendous questions/insights into our origins under the current models.

You really are every bit as bad as the people you rail against... Angry and insulting with a superiority complex.

would inevitably be unsustainable on account of there being no barrier to entry other than the cost of providing service. This barrier would be high, but for the serious competitor, it would be more than enough to ensure that monopolies do not persist indefinitely.

Actually that assumption is the dubious one. It is far from clear that at any point it will be worth it for a competitor to come in and incur the huge upfront fixed cost of time, money (and risk) that initially granted the monopoly to the first guy there to begin with. In the case of utilities, it might be something like having to lay an entire delivery infrastructure just in the hope of an eventual payoff.

But really, it's not even necessary to show that a competitor won't eventually unseat the natural monopolist. The monopoly existing for just years or decades is easily good enough to matter to consumers.

And the types of technological improvements that might make it worthwhile to risk challenging an existing natural monopoly does not often happen on timeframes smaller than that.

Again, that's a merit-less ad hominem that avoids the question.

A judge, especially one that attended an ivy league law school is not an idiot.

You have still not answered how their personal belief could possibly affect your life.

Progressives have no idea how to debate without it. Hence why VegasBengal thinks he claims everyone is stupid except for himself.

How else would he have responded to me pointing out his hypocrisy?

So, an individual who believes in creation is an idiot? Is that your position?

Your assignment was to name a judge that had those beliefs and explain how they impacted your life. Pointing out the beliefs of a former neurosurgeon who may or may not be running for president does not meet the criteria.

Actually a chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court was named. You just ignored the reference.

As you ignored the rest of my statement re marriage equality. Because that's what you do... you cherry pick that which you believe makes your point and ignore what refutes your point.

Now let me try this one final time... as I would explain to a child....

To not believe in Evolution is tantamount to believing the moon is made of cheese. It's an idiotic belief system that not even the Catholic Church believes. If you cannot understand the basic idea of Evolution, I do not want you on the bench. You judgment is tainted. You're an idiot. It's like you saying you believe the moon is made of cheese. You're a fool. And I don't want fools on the bench.

I don't know how I can say it better... I can only assume you're a cheese lover and you're on the list to be taken to the moon.

You're confusing "Republican" with evangelical.

I know plenty of Republican atheists. Mostly business owners. Producers, if you will.

Define this. We have an idiot in the white house killing innocent people everyday via drones.

Wouldn't that disqualify him from the bench?

No, but one that believs in it while completely dismissing evolution is either an idiot, or at the very least woefully ignorant.

I do as well and I don't hold Hail and a good number of Republicans on this board as mouth breathers. And when the party was at least 50/50, I was a member.

Now the party is full of La Place Mikes.

Republicans such as Paul, those who tend to be more libertarian, I have no problem with. But they are in a minority.
