Well at least you gave a real answer. I would also enjoy an explanation of how his "idiotic" beliefs were the cause of said shenanigans, though.

how has this impacted you personally?

If you're a tech firm that's looking to attract top talent you might be hesitant to locate your business in an area where potential employees might be discouraged from living even if it seems to make sense for other reasons.

It might be neutral, meaning nothing of consequence comes from it, but I certainly can't imagine anything positive coming from such ignorance.

I don't have time to read the entire thing now. I'd like to, but not because of this subject.

Fair enough. Understand completely.

I'm discussing science class, and there is a mountain of evidence for evolution. There is not a shred of it for intelligent design.

Sorry, but that is simply not a factual statement. Not even remotely close.

I should mention that I'm Catholic. I, by definition, believe in intelligent design.

Thanks for the clarification.

But not as a scientific argument or because of evidence.

Have to disagree with you again. Thanks for the discussion though. Always enjoy it.

He believes the US Constitution is derived from God's word, and that God allowed him to be elected the Alabama Supreme Court so he could place a monument of the 10 Commandments in the courtroom. He was ordered to remove them by the Feds, he refused, huge lawsuit, removed from the bench. Then we elected him again.

I didn't.

I can honestly say that ID was never mentioned or discussed. Hell in grad school we even had a party on Darwin's birthday.
Nice.

With that being said there is no way you can convince me that there isn't an intelligent design.
I wouldn't dream of it, as posted above.

Oh, so nothing about his beliefs concerning the age of the earth?

So my friend, in other words, it is a "code word" amongst those of a more Progressive/Liberal bent? It does not have to be specifically believed, simply implied. Correct?

Sometimes I really do feel like I'm missing out. To my knowledge, I have never met a young Earther.

I must give off some kind of repelling aura.

Not sure why you're so hung up on that, but here you go. While he doesn't say how old he thinks the earth is, he doesn't believe in evolution at all, so it's a pretty safe assumption. And no I don't have any specific examples of how that belief has affected me personally, and don't care. He's an embarrassment to the state.

I've heard the story about Darwin's death bed confession from Protestant friends (Grew up Catholic, family had no problem with evolution), but I can't say that I've spoken with many young earth creationists. And I grew up in southern Louisiana.

I'm not asking for much.

I just want one example of a judge's personal beliefs concerning the age of the earth impacting someone's life. This was the criteria outlined by liberals in this thread and they have failed to provide any evidence.

The example provided has nothing to do with my request. His actions can be described by his judicial philosophy and/or overall religious beliefs. It has nothing to do with whether or not the earth is 6K years old.

Thank you for your honesty. Now maybe you liberals can find something of merit to bitch and moan about.

On the internet doesn't count. I want to see one in the wild.

This is like seeing a lion at the zoo or seeing one in Africa.

No comparison.

I'm in the same boat. It's remarkable that they are apparently so prevalent, yet so elusive to some of us.
