False equivalence in the sense that Trump and others are trying to morally equate Nazis with people who came out to protest Nazis.

But I'm just helping you to be more rational, I would hate for you to continue to suffer the irrational memorials of your family. I'll even pay for it, let me know where they are.

If all they did was protest, you might be correct.

Once you go down the path of violence, then you are no better than the person you are attacking.

One side is Nazis. The other side is people protesting Nazis.

They're not "all terrible" on the same level, and you know that.

I follow and am with you, SFP.

Not to be a downer, though...the propaganda is being pushed so far as to exclude reason or even the meaning of words, IMO.

“He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past." This is becoming the core agenda and is outpacing craven and soulless politicians who have been using identity politics in purely self-interested pursuits.

You are completely misunderstanding my point. I am not suggesting that there is anything inherently right/wrong with being either rational or emotional. I am simply pointing out that Republicans have "emotional" causes too.

The statue issue is an emotional one for both sides.

Is your point that mendacity can be defeated with reason?

i have no idea how to "win" while keeping morality

my ideological opposition (on the left and right) discarded morality. i think exposing their extremism in a truthful way is probably the best way to erode support. America is not extremist and if given displays of extremism, will reject it

This is part of the reason our government was created, to prevent mass and mob rule.

That's when you need our leaders, people of reason, people who are supposed to be better than we are, to temper our frustrations. But we have leaders in government making excuses and in some cases even outright endorsing it.

Once you let this monster out it's almost impossible to bring it back under control.

none. her murder was terrible and inexcusable

i have no problem calling Nazis, especially violent ones, human garbage

do you admit or deny that authoritarian-left groups have attacked non-violent, non-Nazis between Jan 1, 2017 and August 10, 2017?

Then let's stop equating her protest with the Nazis she was protesting, as the President did specifically for that day in Charlottesville.

Full stop.

simple question

do you admit or deny that authoritarian-left groups have attacked non-violent, non-Nazis between Jan 1, 2017 and August 10, 2017?

why are you avoiding giving a simple answer? you've been avoiding this question (in different forms) for days

also beware the demand of declaration of hatred of Nazis, wherein if you make a comment that doesn't include an outward hatred/rejection of Nazis, the implication is that you support Nazis. if you want to be really annoying, and i have thought about doing this, create a disclaimer to add to EVERY comment along the lines of:

quote:

Note: the above comment in no way excludes hatred of Nazis. Nazis are terrible, evil, and immoral and have no place in society. any failure to directly state this in no way implies support of their moral bankruptcy

You really need to do this for the leftist SJWs. If you don't absolutely qualify every statement you make, they are sure to misinterpret your words. Politically correct speech is all the lefties seem to understand.
