It would be awesome and our world would be way better if healthcare was all free and easy but it’s not a right. I will say we should have the right to not have it regulated though, that’s the part that is so fricked up.

Been in Toronto for a week and although a just a small sample size, it was interesting talking to a few people about their health care. Was actually a smart cab driver that has been in Canada for 30 years and most of his family lives in Chicago, Miami, California.
In his opinion they can spend so much more on people in Canada because their population is so much smaller. He also said although they get free Health care in Canada, the Social Service department is strict. They basically make you work. He said if u don't work you get about 1000 dollars a month but they come to your door to see what the problem is. They say what work did you used to do? "Taxi driver" Why can't u keep doing that, etc. Then they say well if u can't keep up, we will give you one person to drive around all day so that u are doing something.
So they basically have a lot more people pitching in and a much smaller population. Things seem to work well here though. Low crime and multi diverse population that seems to get along.
Also helps that they spend much less on defense by relying on us to bail them out.

Is it always affordable to go to the doctor?
Even after high premiums people often have high deductibles that deter them from going to the doctor.

You have a right to it, but the beef is about you don't have a right to make me pay for it. Comprene?

Of course, the answer is no. But if you're talking about a trip to your PCP for a routine physical and some labs. A trip to the pediatrician because your kid's ear hurts. Seeing a specialist for joint pain...ie reasonable visits and illnesses that aren't chemo/dialysis/etc. then yeah, it's affordable to go see a doctor even as a self-pay patient.

The "healthcare is a right" argument is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. No one has a right to someone else's services. I can't hold my doctor hostage at his home demanding him to treat me. If we start thinking healthcare is a right, at what point do we start saying plumbing is a right, or that we have a right to maids cleaning our houses, or a right to anyone's services?

We made it a right when we made it illegal for a provider to deny someone service.

Not healthcare that America wants.... Experimental drugs, 95 year olds on ventilators for months, 26 week old premies on life support, MRIs for everyone
Bingo
What no one is saying. People don't want universal healthcare what they want is really good health insurance for free.
Health insurance is probably the worst way of making sure everyone has healthcare.
Insurance only works if you can exclude individuals who costs too much. Car i surance drops bad drivers for a reason.

Of course it's not.
Leftists believe that somehow everyone crying and whining for something makes it a right.
By their logic my children have a right to eat candy and ice cream for dinner.

Healthcare is not a right.
ACCESS to healthcare is a right.
ACCESS to healthcare is a right.

Healthcare has never been a right. When you bring a life into this world, you're responsible for that life until it can sustain itself. Nowhere does the government fit into that equation, other than ensuring you are safe to pursue caring for your needs.

Violating their civil rights to diabetes and heart disease!! All children must be fed crap to insure dependence on the govt. and the Dimlibtards. Expect Johnny Law to come haul you and the mrs. away after shooting your dog any day now ("day" being defined as 3am full out SWAT no knock raid. You'd already be shot and in custody except they haven't gotten your address right yet).

No.
The first principle of a right is that it makes no demand upon others save one,
that the right be respected.

If healthcare is a right supplied to you by the government, they would also have to right to tell you how to eat, how to exercise, how to live, etc.

"invest" in health? How? Who pays for this "investment" and is it voluntary or forced?

I'd say a lot (Not all) of our issues with health care are tied to the fact that it's so expensive to go to the doctor so people put it off until it's too late and then it's really expensive to get treatment.
This is a fallacy. People choose to spend their money on other things.
