(CNSNews.com) - In 24 of the nation’s 50 states at least half of the babies born during the latest year on record had their births paid for by Medicaid, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. New Mexico led all states with 72 percent of the babies born there in 2015 having their births covered by Medicaid. Arkansas ranked second with 67 percent; Louisiana ranked third with 65 percent; and three states—Mississippi, Nevada and Wisconsin—tied for fourth place with 64 percent of babies born there covered by Medicaid.

This is ridiculous. Any wonder the healthcare system is in shambles.

Democrats have completely desroyed the true intent of medicaid.

It was originally a program for people in economic distress, and it would be temporary until they got back on their feet.

Democrats now a days think that putting everyone on this prgram is a long term solution.

It is madness.

Parkland in Dallas at one time delivered more babies than any other single hospital in the nation. You don't go there if you can afford to go anywhere else. 100% Medicaid.

It's easy to complain but solutions are tough. Where would you have a woman deliver and who would pay for it? If someone can't afford insurance they won't pay a bill if you sent them one for it.

Here's a fact: half of babies are not born to parents who can't afford health insurance

There are people on Medicaid who should not be on it. Period

Well that's what happens when the top 20% own over 85% of the wealth in America. You can't force poor ppl to not have babies just because they are poor.

Perhaps people who can't afford kids shouldn't have them until they can?

Eliminating subsidization is not 'forcing', but yes, you can force them.

So that's it now? We allow people to live without any consequences of bad decision making and simply throw our hands in the air and continue until doomsday?!
