You're smarter then this.

quote:

Weapons of Mass Destruction Mission Accomplished The decision to invade Iraq will go down in history as an indefensible exercise of American power 4,500 U.S. troops were killed waterboarding Patriot Act

Again, not likely to have ever happened, had Bill not dropped the ball, covering up his scandals.

Who decided to invade Iraq?

We were fighting the correct enemy in Afghanistan...but hey...that wasn't a big enough arse kicking so we decided to piss stomp a second mideast nation.

quote:

Inherited a surplus from Bill Clinton and promptly gave it away by cutting taxes in a way that disproportionately benefited the wealthy.

Did we or did we not have a surplus prior to W.

quote:

False bubble created under Clinton, because of Dem policies.

Who handed the money out again?

But hey, hang on to your beliefs just how they are now.

They serve you so well.

Myth. I can provide solid data that Perot hurt Clinton as much as Bush I, but it would ruin the shared history of the numbnuts.

Yep. Iceland went the opposite route and it might not have been painless, but they have lower unemployment and aren't that much worse off in terms of debt.

They (unlike the D's and RINOs) were smart enough to realize it doesn't make sense to throw more money at the people who created the mess.

Oh cuz!
You may even believe that BS.

But sans Perot, Clinton would be a mere historic footnote.

You're wrong, bro. All reliable data demonstrate an even split among Perot voters. FACT.

Yup, I said we should of let them all fail. It would of sucked in the short term. But in the long term it would of been far and away better for the nation.

But hey our politicians never think about the long term.

All you need to know about Bill Clinton:

He is a big part of why this happened also IMO:

Our politicians never think farther ahead than their next election cycle. Term limits would solve this problem

At best a guess.
At worst left leaning, with an agenda.
Clinton didn't even hit 50% vs Dole.

Bottomline: Clinton could not have overcome Bush inevitability if Perot was not in the race.
Bottomline: There was one reason Perot was in the race, he hated GHWB. His objective was to ensure Bush lost the election, and he accomplished it.

Now retrospectively, a litany of Clinton apologists can claim Clinton would have won anyway. I can guarantee you, in doing so they are inappropriately discounting the two-on-one BS that was the 1992 campaign and debates, and the effect that had.

They were both pretty terrible in their own right.

However, I'd put Bill in over W right now simply because I feel W's supporting cast may get us into another scuffle and we really can't afford that right now.

But damn, I really don't know. Reno is a big detraction for me.
