It's fascinating to realize Western Civilization will ultimately fall b/c certain people don't like rubbers
I've been saying for years that the govt should make rubbers free to all. Put them in bars, coffee houses, movie theatres, shopping centers, athletic complexes, all over college campuses and most importantly in Baylor's athletic dorms. It would be money well spent and reduce abortions and STDs. Hell throw in the morning after pill too. We know how to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Abortions could be minimized.

Does your formula take into account stupidity and throwing caution to the wind - with no consequences?? Funny how we praise and pay for PP and at the same time write books on the horrors Auschwitz.
I can't imagine what defunding planned parenthood is going to do to the increase in births of kids to shitty people who have no business having kids.

You think people would still use them. How much does a rubber cost?

How many single moms are out raising babies in the desert?
Did you really think that was some great point?

I absolutely hate abortion. Few things infuriate me more than abortion.
That being said, I don't really want laws against it.
That's super hard to say.
Where I've come to be on it is that I don't want to have roe v wade overturned. As disgusting as the act itself is it would just cause more unwanted pregnancies, more kids in foster system, more people on the government tit, or unsafe back alley abortions.
None of those are good.
What I would like is to see the government take a three prong approach:
A. Make it easier and cheaper to adopt children in the US. We were going through the process and it was ungodly. The costs, paperwork, and time is stupid. Make it easier and more attractive to mothers who would otherwise have abortions to carry babies to term and adopt them.
B. Encourage safe, protected sex in committed relationships as the norm, not archaic religious stupidity. We can knock the religious right all day, but to pretend saving sex for later in life is a bad thing is beyond moronic. I'm not saying to outlaw sex before marriage or anything that extreme but the left has done such a good job of shoving sexual freedom down everybody's throats that the idea of waiting even just for a committed relationship is just seen a religious lunacy, when it's actually smart in every sense. More safe sex, less unwanted babies.
C. Forced sterilization.

Lots of bars hand em out like candy. What's one going to cost you, 50 cents?

Am I wrong for thinking we should be encouraging abortions when they inevitably get knocked up because they can't understand contraception?
My conservative side is puzzled.
thanks for posting, I have been conflicted for many years as well. "if not abortions, the black community would be 39% of our population"...let's just keep it real...not meant to be racist in any way, but thats the math...
if abortions were illegal, 39% of America would be black...now exactly how does that translate to jobs, housing, education and so on? At 13% we have our hands full
I wouldn't wish a decision to abort or not on anyone...
May God forgive us all... for even thinking what we think sometimes...

I've probably been buying at the wrong place because I'm paying lots more. They charge by the inch.

Don't let your guilt get you down. Just think of all the innocent children in various parts of the world that we've killed, maimed, and disfigured. And whatever you do, don't google birth defects as a result of our actions in Iraq and other regions. It will make you sick.

I've never given a shite about abortion. Let them do it.

The problem with abortion is the people who should be having them aren't.
I don't think this is the case. Those types of people ARE having them. They just also happen to have children as well.
I assure you, the fast majority of Women that are having abortions aren't married 27 year olds with college degrees. They are going to the extremes of abortion because they are not in a good situation.
My libertarian leaning arse completely supports full government funding of contraceptives and abortions.
The cost for these things is minuscule compared to the costs incompetent adults.
The last thing America needs is MORE poor desparate people.

Government does not fund abortions. Never have as far as I recall.

The number of single moms worldwide living in abject poverty is in the millions easily.
The point was that threatening to cut off aid is not going to improve the unwanted pregnancy rate any.
The only thing that's proven to work is real sex ed and easily available and free contraception.

Just think about how much worse cities like BR or NOLA would be w/o abortion. It's a very grim picture.
