There's already a tourist industry infrastructure because it's a popular spot for Europeans and Canadians

And yet things like restaurants are heavily restricted. Its almost impossible to get a license, they restrict the amount of tables you can have, number of employees, you can't serve beef or lobster, etc etc. And if you turn a profit, you can be arrested for "illicit enrichment".

That's something that needs to change.

This is going to royally frick the prices up for a couple of years. Every a-hole that has ever smoked a swisher sweet is now going to claim they only smoke Cubans.
Better order quick.

I don't think this will royally frick up prices. If anything it probably lowers the prices of the other cigars on the market. You now have more cigars legally entering the market. The price on cubans could be high demand wise but it should actually drop the others prices.

You don't think Iran is trying to build the bomb? You might be the one who's brainwashed partner.

Yes I do. I support their right to self defense. I hope they build one. The issue is acting like Iran is a nutjob state sworn on killing Americans when their record is nearly spotless compared to our's over the past 70 years. They're surrounded by our bases and are threatened daily by our warmongering politicians. They aren't the aggressor in this situation and they've supported far less terrorists groups than the US.

It may lower the price of noncubans. However, how is Cuba going to put a single box in every cigar store in the US? It will be like 1997 all over again. Cuba doesn't have the capacity or the tobacco to instantly ramp up production for the US market.

You know, you're right. The US propaganda machine is spoon feeding ignorant people lies about what's really going on.

the embargo isn't lifted, all of what you think is happening isn't happening, but then when you're a lit up toot head, it's hard to have a clue what's going on.

Yeah, they still are an oppressive Gov't with tons of human rights abuses...I guess the Obama administration is just throwing stuff against the wall hoping something will stick..It might work, so who knows. Its definitely true that the status quo wasn't working..This is pure Politics, though, so whats the angle??

Nice of you to assert that people who aren't warmongering against nonthreatening countries are anti-Semitic. Clearly, proponents of peace and free trade must be anti-American jew-haters. Like I said, you are living in the dark.

Yep.

It bewilders me that so many think their economy is going to trickle down to the people like it does in America and elsewhere. That's not how it works. Other than getting a lot of money from us through various mechanisms that have nothing to do with "local businesses" or other forms that would benefit the average citizen, nothing will change.

Profit is illegal in Cuba. Prosperity is therefore illegal in Cuba. But yes, I'm sure they'll welcome your tourist dollars so their government can become stronger. Good boy.

Rubio just trashed the decision in a speech. Guess he must hate cigars.
