I'm just curious based on your screen name. How many political or religious posts do you make, on average, on Facebook every day? And are most of them about something bad that's happening or about to happen?

Because other countries have no embargo on Cuba and the place is still a craphole and money is not making it to the people thanks to the communists. How will this not strengthen the current Castro government?

I'm not sure if this is a positive or negative.

This is great news if your're from LA.

Cuba. In 1958, Cuba was Louisiana’s number one
trading partner in imports and number seven (7) in
exports.

Obviously, it would be nowhere that high today, but LA ports should see a nice increase in demand.

I know many on here don't like Blanco, and she certainly had her faults, but I always thought she was right to push for more normalized relations with Cuba.

So, we're basically going to fund their policies instead of trying to choke them to death. I suppose the latter was never going to work due to their agricultural self-sustainability and the fact that they are too drunk and browbeaten to topple the government, but to think that this policy will defeat their communist policies is ignorant at best. If anything, we are helping it prosper.

Basically, we are Cuba's new sugar daddy. It will be interesting to see how Fontova reacts to this, as well as the exiles still living in Miami.

And those cars have about as many original parts as Joan Rivers. Good luck with that.

We're nowhere near choking them to death after almost 60 years.

I've always felt its hypocritical to support the Cuba embargo and not support an embargo on Vietnam and China, but I guess Cuban ex-pats are a more organized voting bock than Chinese and Vietnamese ex-pats .

It's hypocritical to be an American and support any embargo.

Check your history! Geography as well: Cuba is just 90 miles off the US coast. Remember WHY the embargo went into effect to begin with?!?!

Japan launched us into WWII with a sneak attack on us, causing a Pacific war that claimed millions of lives. When we beat them, we immediately invested in them and even offer them free military support from here until eternity. Similar thing with the Germans.

Yet 50+ years after the missile crisis we don't have the heart to trade with Cuba?

Long overdue. I'm excited to visit one day.

This is going to royally frick the prices up for a couple of years. Every a-hole that has ever smoked a swisher sweet is now going to claim they only smoke Cubans.
Better order quick.

I think they have a limited purpose, for instance with Iran, a nutjob state actively seeking a nuclear weapon. But I don't think they should be maintained against a country that has shown no indication it wants to attack the U.S. or its allies.

Good move. No reason to have an embargo at this time.

I just said that. It's obvious that browbeaten people of many nations can be forced to accept any level of bare survival as long as the iron fist is strong enough and they have meaningless diversions such as baseball and the good ole tried and true alcohol.

The people who think it will suddenly become a paradise land of opportunity are idiots. All we've done is strengthen their communist government with money NOT generated by their policies. Their policies don't and can't generate jack shite, but now they have Comrade Obama saving them from their own crapulence.

This is a huge boom to their government. Not much more has been accomplished.
