I'm waiting for the liberal outrage when the Koch Bros open up a toilet paper factory down there in the worker's paradise.

When you send more people to shop at a business, the workers work harder, but it is the owners that benefit the most and receive the money. If more Americans go to and stay in Cuba, the workers at the hotels, who earn about $ 20 (per MONTH) will not get much benefit, but the OWNERS, the Castro Regime will get more profits. This is simply a way of helping one of Obama's two favorite leaders (HIS WORDS- not mine) Castro and Chavez.

No, he actually said his two favorite leaders were Castro and Chavez .. I am guessing due to philosophy, but the freedoms of a dictator to act.

I backpacked across Europe including Eastern Europe right after the fall of communism

I lived in West Germany for the 4 years preceding the defeat of communism in Europe. I spent 3 days in East Germany. Two hours in East Berlin in 1987 is enough time to comprehend how truly FUBARED communism really is.

quote:

In Prague my buddy needed socks.
Prague was ahead of the curve. In the greatest social liberal experiment of all time, you libtards destroyed one half of one of the most industrious countries of the world and turned them into welfare queens in East Germany. After the commie iron curtain fell, there were many in West Germany who didn't want anything to do with unification because twits with your liberal bent had turned the Ost into welfare queens.

quote:

Everywhere we went we saw in amazing singers and musicians in the streets and churches performing for tips. They lost their jobs after the fall.

Twenty years later, Nancy Pelosi encourages unemployed Americans to seek their inner poet and music without providing any hints about what to do when capitalism strikes again.

quote:

Lots of prostitutes but who looked like decent respectable people.
I've never met a prostitute where I didn't say you can be doing more with your life than you are now. Learn to respect yourself. OTOH, life in a commie zone forces people to make hard choices.

quote:

I was at Prague's lone gay bar and was hit on by a swarm of hot guys. This Aussie walks up to me and says "ya know, they're all prostitutes." Same thing in straight bars. People were jobless and broke.

That's an interesting observation. Why were they jobless and broke? Would they rather run a lathe or a press instead of playing another guy's skin flute? Has the thought ever crossed your mind that a society where people don't have to check into a DMV-type office to get their houses roofed might stimulate more economic activity than your commie top-down approach?

quote:

Similar things in East Germany where people were incredibly rude. They had huge chips on their shoulders bc at that time the little crappy bit they had was taken from them at the fall and they had even less afterwards after expecting improvement.

Unfortunately since they're all white over there, it's hard to work racism into their rudeness, so why do you think they had chips on their shoulders? The state didn't only take their belongings, it took all.

quote:

Years later I saw western influence with huge American stores and hotels, franchises, Kfc, McDonald's etc. very commercialized.

People had quality socks. No bread lines. Property rights. Jobs. IOW, a future without a Stasi breathing down their necks. In fact, I think only old Stasi agents are the only ones who'd rather go back.

quote:

IM very looking forward to seeing Cuba before American influence takes over to get the feel of Castro's Cuba before KFC takes over.

I wish you'd gotten the feel of Castro's Cuba firsthand.

Some people like to get off on being the "rich American" and think they get an idea on how a country is after a 3 day trip through tourista towns.
