Lots of great restaurants, easy to get a cab whenever I wanted, cool bars, good night life, artsy crowd, lots of young women around. Just a good time.
Lots of fresh raise produce, easy to drive anywhere without traffic, cool little pub in "town", good family life, hard working type friends, lots of wholesome women around. Just a good life.
Not FIFY, but just showing the reason that a little "r" republican form of government is essential to the existence of the USA. One size fits all rules out of Washington are bad because regulations that work in the inner city don't necessarily work in the rural parts and vise versa.

Rural, but in a neighborhood. The kind where deer still walk down the street.

Rural Other
Somewhere in between these two. When I first move to my location back in '87 it was definitely rural but it has grown.

Deer are like rats in my neighborhood. One night a year the GA DNR allows permitted residence to spot and shoot as many as they can that night.

That's me. When I drive out before dawn I have to drive 10 miles per hour. The deer are all over my street. Sometimes I have to just get out of the car and say 'Hey, go into the woods, moron." They look at me and jump into the forest. I love it.

one of the first suburbs of Atlanta. i can't call it a suburb now given how Atlanta is sprawled out, but it isn't inner city either.
the first suburb of atlanta is only a mile from downtown and connected by street car (and will again soon). it definitely feels more suburban here than in that neighborhood.
unlike new suburbs, these old planned communities (by Frederick Law Olmsted and John/Joel Hurt) don't feel like a collection of little boxes made of ticky-tacky.
pardon the long answer--needed a distraction from something boring i'm working on.

Other. It's a weird city/town to describe. Feels much larger than the population would imply. It's a collection of communities though. Might could say burbs, as Auke Bay is about 12 miles from downtown.
Red arrow is where my place is. Used to be a separate town, not it's incorporated into the City and Borough of Juneau

The entirety of Lafayette is a suburb.

I'm glad you like your situation. And I'm glad we can both have the kind of situation we want.
