Pretty sure I do. But just like most sheep, you can't see you're the ones that are really in the Window's herd. The numbers don't lie.
I broke from the Windows herd and went OSX. That puts me in the Apple ecosystem. So naturally I'm going to consider Apple first. But fundamentally I'm the one made the choice to run from the Window's herd mentality--unlike you.

The thing is common sense would dictate the apple watch is an overpriced piece of tech. That is when you can get a smart watch for a lot cheaper than the price Apple is asking.
People value money differently. Being a poor kid in the ghetto and spending over $100 on a pair of shoes that might get you assaulted clearly violates common sense, but that doesn't mean the benefit of having them doesn't outweigh the cost/risk of having them for some.
I'm platform agnostic and try to stay out of the fanboy fray, but I find it ironic that what the people bleating sheep the loudest seem to really want is to be surrounded by a larger flock of like minded individuals.
Why do people care so much about what other people do? This isn't an adversarial situation where the more watches Apple sells the fewer Android Wear watches will be made. This is a rising tide raises all boats situation where the more smart watches there are out there the more 3rd parties will make products that interact with them, and the more value everyone gets out of their smart watch of choice.

I think it is because the android fanboys have some strange insecurity. They feel the need to gloat and brag about their phones in an attempt to validate their choice all the while trashing Apple. You don't see HTC fans trashing LG. Or Samsung fans trashing Sony. You bought a phone you like and works for you, congratulations. Why do you give a shite about what other people choose?
Maybe it stems from all the "poor" jokes Apple fanboys made about the early iterations of android phones. I don't know. Whatever the reason is it makes this board almost unreadable when it comes to Apple related products.

The only level headed way to see this...I don't appreciate the apples business practices, so I don't support them...In that, I give up some of my privacy to Google..I have nothing to hide..

This is the root of it all..This is why apple followers are called sheep..To not see the irony of your own statements, is ignorance

Also, are there a lot of sheep references?
What do you expect when A MILLION PEOPLE IN ONE DAY preorder a somewhat pricey (yet non-upgradeable and disposable) product without ever having seen or touched one and who aren't sure what they'll use it for, simply because it has an apple on it? What would you call people who line up outside shops for days, or stay up all hours of the night just itching to give hundreds or thousands of dollars to a company for something they don't even know what to do with? They make pretty good stuff, but it's not line up by the millions good. Homeless people aren't as eager for a free meal as these people are to part with their money. It's absurd.

the only thing i want to see is how creative people get in defending apple's pitiful battery life on this.
you're going to have the fanbois out in droves saying 'you're looking at the watch too much' or 'thats not how apple designed it'
seriously, the battery apologists are going to be going full retard with this one.

Cause experience shows Apple products are worth it. No one else has that reputation back up by enormous sales. If Apple was putting out miss after miss those lines would soon disappear.

quote:This mischaracterization is old and tired. Google doesn't sell your data to advertisers, they use your data to match you with advertisers.
The disciples of Google are so ridiculous. You guys worship at the alter of a company that has as it's primary business model collecting personal information so that it can be aggregated and sold to advertisers.
quote:Yet we can leave the pods whenever we want without feeling like we are trapped in an ecosystem.
I'll never understand why you assholes act like you are the rebels. You are the people in the pods in the Matrix.
quote:It's no big secret that Google makes their money off of users. They aren't hiding anything. And as a happy Google user, if I am ever unhappy with a particular product or service, I can easily switch without feeling trapped. I could buy an iPhone and keep using Google Docs. Or I can download my Google Docs in another format. I can access my mail, photos, etc. from practically any device in the world, regardless of manufacturer. If you were to buy an Android phone, would you know how to access all your photos you took with your iPhone? Is it possible without jumping through hoops? What about all the rest of your iCloud stuff? Why hasn't Apple made an iMessage client for Android? Why can't you see that it's you who is trapped in a pod?
Apple is a hardware company. Their business is selling hardware. Google's business is you and hiding it in a their services.
Posted on 4/14/15 at 11:04 am to TigerGman
quote:That seems more and more unlikely as they continue to tie their hardware products together with proprietary software. Can you honestly tell me that if Apple puts out something sub-par, that you would consider buying something else rather than wait for next year's improved product?

I can't speak for anyone else here, but I actually tried both platforms and have determined Android to be far superior for my purposes, so much so that I am more than willing to accept and be aware of the data they are collecting from me. I was still using Google and many of its services when I was using iOS, so by switching to Android I really just have one less multi-billion-dollar empire collecting data about me. It's just as foolish to be blind to Google's intentions as it is to imply they are more personally malicious or disruptive than they actually are.
Same. And I like Apple. I just like Google more because they seem intellectually curious about what they can do with technology to entertain us and make us more productive. Apple is a good company that makes really good products, but their ambition is to perfect products and sell them. I like Google's approach more.
I'm sure there are things I dislike about Google. But when Google devotes tons of r&d money to things that they know people will think are cool but never buy, I like that. It's like Bezos spending money on sea exploration.
To the extent I'm unhappy w/ Apple at all, it's because they've ceased doing much that is interesting.

That looks great for $165

I hope Android Wear on iOS becomes a reality soon because I really like the look of the Moto 360. The Apple Watch I would get would be a minimum of $850 which is absurd but <$200 for a really nice looking smartwatch is much more manageable.

while that is great, you can get a pebble for less, and it has a 6-10 day battery life.
