It's not hatred, at least not in my case. It's more comical for me, entertainment. Can you honestly tell me that you don't find it entertaining to see (or perhaps discuss) someone being foolish with their money?

Being foolish with money is a extremely subjective idea. I'm a miser, everyone else is foolish with their money.

Where some see extravagance, others see value. Just the way it is.

Exactly, we all have our opinions, and we come to internet message boards to share them.

That's the spirit.

Yeah, so what's the problem with people talking about their different views? Why try to cut it off with a "who gives a shite?", when the answer is obviously "us and not you" (even though you are spending quite a bit of time in this thread)?

Probably because I can't figure out this damn android vs apple bullshite. It's ford vs chevy all over again, which I thought was equally as foolish.

Am I not allowed to express my thoughts about what I believe is foolish? I mean, you clearly want to express yours, but not hear mine.

Of course you are allowed to express your thoughts. And I have heard your thoughts, which can be summarized as you shitting on a discussion between people shitting on each other. Which brings me to this quote from this thread:
quote:

Not sure why people feel they have to shite on things to feel somewhat superior.
Care to guess who said it?

absolutely not. I'm trying to figure out what in the hell would lead to these pissing contests. Blows my mind that grown men would still fight over such trivial matters. It's more about understanding why it's so important to some people.

As I said before, it's not important, it's entertainment. You see a fight or a pissing contest, and I see an opportunity to have a little fun pointing out irrational behavior.

Apple makes some good, quality products, no doubt about it. I don't think anybody can successfully argue against that. But it's funny to me that a million people in one day willingly handed over hundreds of dollars for a product they won't see for months. Is that not herd mentality that is deserving of a certain title?

No. Not given Apple's track record of success.

Now on the other hand, sticking with Microsoft after fiascos like Vista and Windows 8 is a perfect example.

And yet these people use android. btw, if you think 8 was/is bad, you're even dumber than your posts suggest.

I still don't understand the point of it. If I have an iPhone, why would I need an apple watch?

I know they do, and it's silly to pre-order anything that you don't absolutely need. But those are phones. People know what they're getting when they buy a phone. A hundred million people could preorder the next iPhone and it wouldn't be as funny as these million people preordering the watch.

I didn't think the iPad would take off either. I also don't care for watches. But I've been wrong before.

It is my hope that one day we will get over this argument about if it is better over four years to own a $400 ipad or two $200 Android tablets.

High end Android platforms are as good as iOS with trade offs both ways.

We good?

Ok.

I will never settle up with anyone that is not 58 years old and not a gamer that loves Windows.

My break from Windows in 2007 to OS X was religiously satisfying and still is.
