House of Prime Rib if you're in the mood for a big hunka meat and some great Cabernet

SF has some of the best restaurants in the entire country. You'll have to be specific.

State Bird Provisions if you can get in.

Coi
Statebird Provisions
the Progress
Cockscomb
Plum (Oakland)
The Slanted Door (would be my #1 pick)
La Folie
Bar Tartine
Tartine Bread
Swan's Oyster Depot

Maybe checkout some wine country spots or head over to Berkley and get a table at Chez Panisse.

Benu hands down best meal of my life. It has 3 Michelin stars, when I went last July they had 2. I also went to the Restaurant at Meadowood in Napa and Benu blew them out the water. Meadwood also has 3 Michelin stars and the food wasn't even close to Benu. Chef at Benu worked at the French Laundry as chef de cuisine for ten years.

Union Square Sushi Bars

Anyone from Louisiana visiting San Francisco should spend all their time eating Chinese food, IMO.

David Chang says Benu is currently the best restaurant in the country. FWIW.

Don't miss the Ferry Building farmers market--it is sprawling and bountiful enough to make a hungry person cry.

Avoid Fisherman's Wharf at all costs.

For breakfast/brunch one day I'd highly recommend Sweet Maple. The BEST bacon on the plant, it's called the Millionaire's bacon.

Had Sushi at Umami one night, thought it was excellent.
