My experiences at these restaurants have been very good in both America and Brazil.

This is a welcome addition to canal street. It will replace canal street grill in the lobby of the J.W. Marriott.

The plans show outdoor cafe seating which is something lower canal needs...I envision canal with lots of high end chains like the Art of Shaving which opened, the unnamed Ritz restaurant that will be replacing M Bistro and moving Downstairs, etc

I am glad we got this and not Texas DE Brazil.

You should move up to the apartments at Perkins Rowe in BR if you enjoy that type of environment. There were plenty of vacancies last I heard.

I guess that's better than vacant storefronts, t-shirt shops, and fast food restaurants. But it is kinda depressing to see NOLA look like every other city in America. Chain hotel, chain shops, chain restaurants...sigh.

It doesn't. A few chains moving in, where there is nothing else of substance currently, certainly isn't going to make it so.

Just means there's more room for me and my friends at the local places.

I know what rent runs right now in new Orleans right now...only the Brennans locally can afford it. Lilette or LPG are not moving to canal...

Further, every city in the world I have been to has a main street with chains. Get real...were people mad when Tiffanys moved to canal. A city can have it all. Canal is where chains belong...high end ones would be nicer than two McDonalds, Arby's and t shirt shops.

How will people launder money if there arent film and camera stores and t shirt shops ringing the Quarter?

are you expecting bed and breakfasts on Canal Street?

You don't have to go far or look hard to find a bajillion non-chain restaurants. When a TGI Friday's replaces Galatoire's I'll start to worry.

That store will be a loss leader for the company, just like any of the chains around Times Square or (insert historical area). They'll sit there for 3-5 years and then cut bait.
