There's so much misinformation in here I think my brain might explode.

Back to the OP, 3+yrs at near 2.0gpa, there's no way of pulling that up. Hard to suggest anything here..

I guess I should clarify when I say "anyone". I mean anyone with a near 2.8+gpa and has completed the pre-reqs.

PA was originally what I wanted to go to school for. Lsu health wants at least a 3.5 and 2000 hours in hospital setting

That's what I figured.
Just wondered if you would be in trouble for having alcohol metabolites on a test 1,2,3 days after consuming.

PA program at OLOL is desperate for applicants right now b/c most are applying at LSU due to it being much cheaper.
With a decent GRE score, you would be a lock at OLOL. It's around 90K for the program.

They are certainly not desperate. Obviously it has made in impact though.

True. Probably a GRE of 300 would get you in as long as you aren't weird.

If you have a 2.8, you have a low probability of getting into nursing school, and an even lower probability of succeeding.

Lsuhsc-no now has a PA program. ....at least for now!
Posted on 3/31/15 at 5:25 pm to lsu xman
It's very expensive but they aren't desperate for applicants. They just turned down about 65% of the applicants for the previous fall class.

yea right, University of North Dakota has a fast track PA program tho thats mainly done over the internet. Just have to go up there for a few weeks at a time. Almost applied to it because they dont require GRE. Nicholls has a program now too. Make damn good $$, but you are basically the Drs bitch

It's a great job. I finished an out of state program last year and work in ortho. It's competitive. I had a good gre, good gpa, and 5 years in HC so it wasn't hard for me to get in. School is rigorous but far from impossible. Our classes avg gap was probably like 3.6-3.7 but our program favored high gpa. There are three programs in LA now that I know of (LSUHSC-Shreveport,lsuhsc-Nola, and OLOL in BR. I have heard they have had issues with accreditation at the Lake but can't speak from experience. I think your GPA would make it tough to sell to programs as it stands now. You'd need something to set you apart like previous experience. Best of luck. It's a good career choice

Yeah now they do. I wish they would have had it 15 years ago. Would have saved me a lot of drive time.

You can get in as an out of state but you don't get the state preference points
Posted on 3/31/15 at 6:05 pm to lsucoonass
I'm not even sure if I can get in.
I was and still am a medic in the army. A bs in psychology a masters in exercise physiology and an overall gpa of 3.56
But Minot sure if I could get through the er rotation I have lost some feeling in my hands. I don't feel confident in my abity to do chestubes and stuff like that.
So I'm changing my prereqs so I can get into ot or pt school and maybe even get a ph.d in exercise physiology after

This dude is trolling. Even a simpleton with a 2.0 GPA can't actually think he has a chance to get into PA school.
Posted on 3/31/15 at 6:08 pm to Obsidian
Its pretty competitive to get in
