Board the boat. Once you arrive at your fishing destination, jump in the water. Stay there until you're done fishing. Then, re-enter the boat. Return to the dock. You should be fine.

Good luck.

I do not recommend splitting a bottle of jager the night before followed by jalapeno venison sticks on the ride out and then trying to look down and tie your lure on while boat is crashing in waves.

If someone else starts getting sick don't watch and if you start to feel ill keep your eyes on the horizon.

Do not go below the deck if it has a cabin, and all the other stuff mentioned.

It's all in your mind, just tell yourself you aren't going to get sick and you won't.

If you do feel bad out there, just cut chum.

Haven't read the first page but Scopalamine patches night before behind one ear and you won't get sick. Just requires an Rx from a doctor.

Also Ginger is a natural anti motion sickness remedy I always drink gingerale a few days before going and while there.

Ginger. Take a capsule or a teaspoon full before you go, and bring natural ginger ale along to drink. I've also used bitters, an old sailor gave me that once and it helped.

We used to go out several times each year. From about age 12 until I was in my early 20s. The only time I ever got sick, dad and I grilled steaks and made a huge supper for the family, and we proceeded to overeat and drink too much. Up at 4 to get to the docks by 5 and out by 6. I had an uneasy feeling before we even got on the boat. I tried to sleep on a bench inside the boat, not down under but near the back, on the ride out. I was starting to feel better, but when the captain killed the engine and the boat heaved forward, I started to feel it all coming up. Me and this other guy were on opposite sides of a huge plastic trash can, and were taking turns hurling into it. I wiped my mouth off, cracked open a beer, and started fishing. Nothing cures it better than getting a fish on the line. I got pretty drunk while we were out there and never threw up again.

I used to take a half a dramamine the night before when I went to bed. I quit doing that later in my teenage years. Couldn't really tell if it made a difference since I never got sick but that one time anyways.

This works for me as well. I start taking them a couple days before the trip and increase the doseage before the trip.

Biggest thing for me is to not look down for longer than a few seconds. When a line would break I would sit down and retie. When I was retying and looking at the knot I would start feeling a little iffy.

I have learned to tie everything without looking. Helped immensely.

Wolf brand chili the night before, washed down with as much creme soda as you can drink.

It works, I promise.

Pretty much imo don't lay down, don't sit inside, don't drink before. Do eat frequently and small. It really helps to stay outside and feel what the boat is doing and move with it.

I have never gotten sea sick so it is hard to say what meds work best.

Stay hydrated.
Look at the horizon and don't focus on the area in close proximity to the boat.
Don't talk about the possibility of being seasick much before heading out.

Inshore - Bonine works fine for me.

The trick with Bonine is take one the night before and 1 the morning you go out.

Offshore - The patch.
