that'd be bucking the trend. Typically Theo brings guys up while teh team is on the road. I'd expect the pittsburg series immediately following the pads.

Smart move by the sCrUBS they get an extra year before Free Agency when they call him up in May.

He's said he's not going to do it all the time, but based off matchups. I don't know what those matchups mean because even out best hitting pitcher sucks when compared to a true batter.
I'm guessing some days you'll see soler and rizzo up in the lineup and pitcher 8, but on days they're 3 and 4 you'll see pitcher 9.

I don't see how hitting the pitcher anything but 9th is a good option.
You want to maximize the at-bats your real hitters get, and also get the maximum amount of innings you can get out of your pitcher. Hitting him higher in the lineup increases the chances that you'll have to pinch hit for him.
I don't know exactly what matchups that he is referring to, but I'm assuming this would be extremely rare.

I don't think he can be called up until May 12th if they want to keep the extra year. That was the only reason they sent him down.
