Nutrition info on all fast food salads is easily available online. I think the Wendy's salads aren't horrible. Decent amount of protein in most of them, including nuts.

Just be careful about adding a lot of dressing--that's where a lot of salads hide the fat and calories.

If you have a Zaxbys in your area they have really good salads. Or you could stop in a grocery store and grab a premade bag of salad, a bag of cooked chicken breast strips and a pack of dressing. This is what I used to do when I traveled a lot with my job.

Chik-Fil-A tastes okay with dressing, but it's not better for you than a plate lunch with vegetables (if you've got such an option locally).

I've had some decent ones from Wendy's. Some times the lettuce seems a little old but it varies from store to store

Freshness is usually my biggest gripe with fast food salads.

Man you are right on. Salads are often a terrible option. By the time you account for cheese, croutons, nuts and especially dressing, you can almost have a sandwich and fries from a caloric standpoint.

More than once I've watched people proudly say they're eating healthy because they eat salads, but when I see them loading tons of egg, cheese, ham, bacon bits, croutons and then drown it in ranch dressing, I just want to .

You said it.

Doesn't even have to be ranch. A lot of the so called lighter dressings are loaded with sugar and oil (healthy oil makes one chubby too).

Sad thing is that without all that goodness, salads are a complete ripoff to buy out.

Well I'll admit that I'm one of those that goes overboard on dressing, but I'm also not trying to act like I'm eating healthy, just enjoy some green every so often. What's your idea of a healthy salad?
