It is the same type of shite. Offensive numbers will always outweigh the defensive side, but what Noel has been doing defensively is pretty ridiculous.

He has been the best this month but Wiggins has been WAY better on the year

I kept telling a buddy of mine that he would be coming over this year and he was the real deal he wouldn't listen but the kid is ridiculously good

He gets a shite ton of FTs (almost eight per game in March) and shoots a high percentage so his efficiency is fine (slightly above average at 56.4% TS). His basic shooting percentage is low because he shoots lots of threes.

Nah Wiggins is just getting minutes on a terrible team. Per 36 stats favor Mirotic though neither is moving the needle much as far as overall team impact (purely based on stats at least).

I'd probably take Noel over either.

With Rose, Butler, and Taj out, Mirotic has basically carried the team this month. He's had a major team impact recently, especially since playoff seedings are on the line.

You could have said the same thing about damn near every #1 draft pick. They went #1 for a reason...their team sucks.

I think Noel has a legit Rookie of the Year case, but there is no way to justify taking him over Wiggins.

His basic shooting percentage is low because he can't shoot

He was an efficient shooter overseas. He can shoot... and he'll get better. He's young and getting acclimated. Not saying his going to be anywhere near as good as Dirk as a shooter, but Dirk didn't start out so hot either. We're going to need a lot more data than just one season to say Mirotic can't shoot.

Dirk was 20 in his first season, not 24 though.

I do believe Miroctic will get better. But go back to the shot chart i posted on the last page. He's been pretty terrible. Most of his field goals come off dunks. FT's have been his saving grace.

He's shot 84 3pters in March (6per game) and has made 25% of them. That kills a team.

If he couldn't shoot he wouldn't be a 80% FT shooter. Elfrid is an example of a player who can't shoot.

Yea, it's more so of his shot selection. He's forcing a couple instead of being efficient because he's trying to prove he deserves the minutes.

and at least he knows it. He's only shot 33 3pt'ers on the season.

Mirotic's Euroleague stats say he can shoot. But his NBA numbers aren't even close. This thread is about how is playing this season, and it's crazy he's getting huge praise.

Those 3's are certainly a big culprit. Once he learns to take smarter shots, I think we'll see him closer to 45% as an overall shooter. It doesn't help he's being asked to play outside and stretch the floor more... and spending time at SF too.

No, this thread is about how good he can be.
