His basic shooting percentage is low because he can't shoot

I mean, in March he is shooting 43% from the field. That is not bad at all. And that is with a huge increase in minutes. He has gotten to the FT line almost 8 times a game during March also. With time, he can definitely be an offensive force.

K..
Most 4th quarter points in March
123 - NIKOLA MIROTIC
94 - LeBron James
83 - Russell Westbrook
79 - Lou Williams
76 - Corey Brewer

quote:

He played spectacular, and not just in the second half," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "He gives us a lot of problems and they did a good job using him in different ways and in situations that are unique for power forwards to guard."

quote:

Said Mike Dunleavy: "He's just a matchup problem. There are not a lot of 4s in the league who can guard him, get on the perimeter and challenge his 3s. He can put it on the floor and finish. He's a big weapon for us. His play lately has been great.

quote:

"Man, dude can play. He's basically carried this month, to tell you the truth," Butler said. "He's confident, I think he's only going to continue to get better because he's always in a gym working on his game and it shows."

Maybe if he had more commericals you'd think he was good

on a list with Corey Brewer and Lou Williams

and Let's examine his FG by other quarters
1Q: 35%
2Q 39%
3Q: 28%

I love how we have all these stats at our disposal, but people still only look at PPG or watch Sportscenter. If they are players they like, they come up with BS stats like above, 4th Q total points. If they are players they dislike, they rip them apart with any little thing they can find. Whatever happened to just being unbiased on a player?

As for the quotes, im not saying he's been playing terrible. But how do you think interviews go?

Reporter: "Thoughts on Mirotic".

Is the player supposed to say: "Oh man, he has had his flashes, but sometimes his shot selection kills us. Oh, and i wish he'd stop shooting 3's because he hasnt made one since the ACB League."

opposing coaches speak highly of him, as noted.

Sure, cherrypicking stats is the name of the game these days, but I watch actual basketball and can identify good players on the court. Data has it's place, just like anything else in the overall bigger picture.

Wiggins is putting up empty stats on a losing team. He has potential, but he needs outside motivation to succeed. Probably a big reason KG is back in tow.

Yeah, that falls solely on Mirotic...

So he's not putting up empty stats on a losing team (in March when he's gettinh extensive run) as a 24 yr old rookie but 20 yr old wiggins and noel are and 21 yr old payton is?

Lol ok. Why? Ron burgundy's go to " I watch a lot of basketball, that's why". Been the same claim to back up his arguments for years. Unless you're hubie Brown or something then I don't really care

Where are you guys finding these 4th quarter stats and such?

Curious because I have a few things I want to look at

again, what would you expect a coach to say about him when asked?

Lou Williams shoots 37% in the 4th Quarter of games this year, and 29% from 3pt in 4th Quarters.

What stats am i cherry picking?

I watch basketball too. Ive said at least twice in this thread that Mirotic is fun to watch. But at the root of it, the stats don't lie.

Seriously, if you could label one stat i said in this thread as bullshite, pick one. I'd love to know what Im cherry picking.

He's shot so bad overall that I don't have to cherry pick anything.

4th quarter points is an absolutely retarded stat. Good players who's teams are winning by a lot don't play in the 4th quarter.

basketball-reference.com

pull up a player, and there are drop downs right under his name.

Splits, game logs, on/off, shooting, etc. Choose the "shooting" drop down and pick the year.

Exactly

When has this become a relevant stat? ESPN Stats and Info made a few tweets about it now it's a stat a ROY candidate is going to hang his hat on

I linked you to that very website the other day showing you that Harden's FTs are on par with MJ, Kobe and Wade's attempts at this point in their careers.

The thing that impresses me the most about mirotic is his defense. He's a pretty versatile defender. More impressive than 4Q points

I never clicked on the links bc you were trying to prove a fact I wasn't disputing

And I've been there before, just never really tried to maneuver through all the links. Still couldn't find the stat I was looking for.. MPG per Quarter

I'm sure it's on there somewhere but I guess I'm just mentally retarded

The Bulls were missing DRose, Jimmy Buckets, and Taj Gibson. Not like that has anything to do with it. Not to mention Noah is being forced to play restricted minutes by Bulls management, despite playing his best basketball of the season.

Yeah, the Bulls losing is all Mirotic's fault.
