Jerry Lee's on Greenwell Springs. Boudin Poboy is on point

For some reason Baton Rouge does not have a lot of boudin places and the places it does have are not the best. Jerry Lee's and ronnies are decent though.

Because BR is full of yuppity city folks who don't eat boudin regularly. Plus, a short drive in any direction outside of the city will put you on some really quality boudin.

Bergerons and Ronnies. Im not a big Jerry Lees fan though sorry.

Ronnie's is on par with anything you can get in Scott

Ronnies is just so damn gross every time I go in there

I'm a big fan of Bergeron's. It's a little jaunt over the new bridge.

But it is so good!
Also, if you're out toward the Watson area...Day's Smokehouse is very good, you can also grab a deer burrito

Ronnie's does make the best boudin balls. Props to Brad and his team.

Ronnie's or Chris' meats ... Jerry Lee's is popular, but I'm not a fan of it.

Another vote for Ronnies

I would not recommend Jerry Lee's either.

That sounds terrible. Bread stuffed with rice? Do they add meat besides just the meat in the boudin?

Ronnie's comes to closest to stores in the Lafayette area but even then it's not quite the same as anything from Lafayette/Carencro/Scott. I'll eat Jerry Lee's if it's the only thing available, but I'm not a big fan of it myself.

Kinda surprised at the disdain towards Jerry Lees in this thread. I love it but usually go for the hogshead cheese.

While non as good as Best Stop or Billy's, Baton Rouge has several solid options:
In BR proper is Ronnie's (my favorite, definitely the best boudin balls in town), Capital City Crawfish (regular boudin is above average, crawfish is awesome, and smoked deer when in stock is some of the best I've ever had), The Jambalaya Shoppe (terrible), and Smokin' Aces (only has smoked boudin which is very good and boudin balls which I haven't tried)
Just outside of BR is Bergeron's in Port Allen (smoked is awesome, regular is meh, balls are meh, balls filled with pepperjack cheese ) and Jerry Lee's in Central (very good boudin with a unique flavor to it, GOAT Hogs Head Cheese).
Some places in Baton Rouge also sell Leblanc's boudin, which is made at Triple S in St. Amant, which is pretty mediocre.
