My parents were blue collar workers, so they had no money to leave us. We did sell the house I grew up in for $26K (yes, $26K), and myself and my siblings split that.

My MIL died last January, we had about $40K after getting some life insurance and selling her little house. We put 20K in each of our kids 529, figured that make her happy knowing she helped in some way sending her grandkids to college.

I received some Confederate Money from Civil War times...it was appraised around 17k for a collector. Its behind glass.

My mom just got a $125K condo in BR from her great aunt (by marriage).
I guess my brother and I will get that (and the other assets she hords) when she passes. Hopefully, that won't be for another 25+ years when she turn 100 and I'm in my 70's.
