Initially had Allstate for car and switched to Geico. Literally cut my bill in half. Ended up switching to State Farm because Geico did not have home owners and Allstate dropped me since I did not have auto. State Farm kept the price about the same.

USAA ftw...if you are a service member of course

As long as you had/have a service member like- mom, dad, grandfather...you can get insurance with them. I've never been in the service, but have USAA and it's the best out there.

I've had State Farm for 23 years but will probably drop them next month. I got into a wreck a few weeks ago(woman rear ended me) and got absolutely zero help from my agent. In years past if I had a problem I could go in and speak to somebody and they would take over and handle everything for me. That's what your agent is supposed to do in my mind. This time they told me they couldn't help me and basically handed me a 1-800 number to call. I had to do everything myself. I never minded paying a little extra because I figured it was worth it to have somewhere local to go and get help. Now, I figure if they wont do anything for me I might as well pay cheaper and go with Progressive or Geico..

I've said it every time I see a thread like this, insurance of any kind is a fricking scam. You want me to pay for damage that hasn't even happened yet? Yeah right, frick off.

I agree with everyone about USAA. They are the best hands down! Prices are great and customer service is the best in the business.

Luckily my dad was in the Air Force so that's how I am able to be a member. I'm not sure how you can get in without some military connection, but switch if you can.

I have auto, property, flood insurance with them. I also have my car note with them. They have great rates. I can't recommend them highly enough.

My grandfather was in the navy and fought in the Battle of Midway (not a brag, just proud). My brother turned 18 years old a couple of years before me and acquired insurance with USAA. When I turned 18 they denied me 6 times. I didn't give up and kept calling until I got someone who let me in. Don't give up trying, it's so worth it.

I'm very surprised at this. I was already insured by them because my dad had me on his plan for car insurance when I was in high school and college.

When I graduated and started working I just called them and they set up my own account with no problem. If your dad was in the military then you are definitely eligible. What part of the service was he in and for how long?

So being a veteran I qualify for USAA correct?

Ive had state farm forever for my vehicles, but have some small company for homeowners. If I combine them all with USAA can I still escrow my homeowners?
