That Kenner shopping center now only has one tennant, Anne's Linens. It has gone from a thriving area to an absolute wasteland in ten years.

It really is sad what has happened to that development. I hate seeing new strip malls being built down the street when this one is just a wasteland. It's like Kenner don't even care about being green anymore brah.

Also I think Anne's is already closed.

My first job was at winn dixie in ponchatoula. One night I let all the buggies get outside to see if I could push them all in at once, I eventually had to get someone to streer the front but I did it. So I hold the buggy record at that store, which will never be broken when it closes.

Re: Kenner, I believe that Belk's will be redeveloping the east side of that shopping center (the old movie theatre side). Rouses inability to get a lease renewal is probably related to this pending redevelopment.

They need to bring back Sunbasket and open up another ice skating ring.

Yeah, this a tough blow for Kenner. I have fond memories of going to the Blockbuster and movie theater (RIP) as well as many trips to the Sav-a-Center. I guess all the country club types will be shopping at the Walmart or Target.

They can still go to Rouses after they take over the Winn Dixie on Williams. I'm just curious as to when this move will happen.

You should be proud that you didn't do your job and made it a PITA for customers so you could do nothing all day until that one glorious moment that you could 'Al Bundy' for years to come.

So how do Rouses stores compare to Winn Dixie?

If its replacing the Winn Dixie and not a new build it will be a lot better than Winn Dixie was but a good step down from a group up built one. Should have good management and good produce and will be clean and offer more local stuff than Winn Dixie by a good bit. Seafood section should blow Winn Dixie away.
