You could easily argue that dropping Smith allowed the offense to flow much better through Jennings, something they couldn't do with Smith in the lineup

This is the correct answer.

Jennings was playing really good basketball without Josh Smith...it wasn't some "little hot streak". It was a huge loss for the Pistons.

Cool

Houston is 7-3 in their last 10 with wins over OKC, Dallas and Phoenix. I'm saying we can probably put this thread to bed.

I coached Josh in 8th grade football.....for about 2 days. I was the HC for the McEachern 8th grade team and on the second day of practice, out walks a skinny and tall kid wanting to sign up after practice had already started. A couple of my coaches filled me in on his BBall notoriety and that they were surprised that his dad was even allowing him on a football field. He didn't seem to enjoy it at all and only lasted 2 days. He seemed like a good kid. Did everything asked of him those 2 days quietly and without a bad attitude. Just think he realized football was not his future real quickly. I think he is still a good guy and does a lot for whatever community he lives in. I just know that he has a tendency to force shots and try and do things that some of his teammates do better. It played out in Atlanta and it would seem it has not changed.

I think that if Josh Smith can be a successful basketball player, it's in Houston. He has probably the best 6th man power forward of all-time coaching him, and he is playing with one of his best friends in Howard. The team seems to really get along with him as well.

Not to mention that this is the best team he's ever played for.

Rockets record since acquiring Josh Smith (12-7), and about to improve to (14-7) after the next two games against Boston and Detroit. Then it gets rough right before All-Star break....

All current playoff teams

Bulls (Home) (East #4)
Bucks (Home) (East #6)
Blazers (Home) (West #3)
Suns (Away)-Feb.10th (West #8)
Clippers (Away)-Feb 11th (West #4)

At best I hope to split the Suns-Clippers back-to-back. Unfortunate the Rockets can't give the Clips their full because the Suns are likely to be tough as they're playing much much better.

They were the best team he ever played for.

Had he gone back to Atlanta right now, we'd be saying the same thing...

After a little bit of a bumpy start to his tenure in Houston, Smith has been on fire for the third-place Rockets.
In February, Smith is averaging 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block per game in 31 minutes per game. His shooting — the biggest question mark about his fit with the Rockets — has been red hot, hitting 47.6% of his shots from the field, 48% of his shots from three (on five attempts per game).
With Smith on the floor in February, the Rockets have a 7.2 net rating, third best on the team. That number falls to -12 with Smith off the floor. In other words, the Rockets are losing when he's on the bench.

I'm sure the Rockets record is everything to do with Smith and nothing to do with the fact that Dwight hasn't played

Dwight has been an average center this year. And they seemed to do pretty well without him while he missed time the first time around.

Smith has definitely adjusted to his role in Houston now.

Josh Smith is the cancer that was holding the Hawks back for so long. Just look at us now.

Josh was good, he just never was as good as HE THOUGHT he was.. he was such a fuking prima donna and a look at me player that had so many fail moments or just wouldn't give a dam. He was definitely a problem with the Hawks, and now he's bad mouthing the organization and fans after it has made a night and day turn around with his arse gone.

He was gone last year and it wasn't like the Hawks were lighting it up...

Well that post doesn't fit the predetermined narrative of bitter Pistons fans and jelly Pelitards.
