Detroit Pistons with JSmith - 5-23
Since - 12-3

Houston Rockets without JSmith - 20-7
Since acquiring - 9-7

Comments? Still too early to tell the impact? Or will these trends continue?

Josh Smith is the cancer that was holding the Hawks back for so long. Just look at us now.

We "reacquired" Dwight at about that same time. IMO, he is much more the reason for 9-7 than 20 min/night Josh Smith.

Dwight may be 70% right now. He needs to sit his arse back down and rehab. And until he does, or his knee miraculously heals, I believe

I'd be lying if I didn't feel a little bit bad for him. All accounts are that he is a good guy and a great teammate.

But those trends can't be ignored.

What I want to know is what did you guys do with the real Brandon Jennings and where are you hiding him? I know it's Orlando but 21 assists? I didn't realize Jennings could even give the ball up that many times. He had as many assists as he did shots taken

great teammates don't jack up a bunch long shots that they aren't good at making. He's not half as good a shooter as he thinks he is, and that's why he screws up his team. Every position is important, and he doesn't understand that.

I honestly thought Josh Smith could help Houston for 20 minutes/night off the bench...I was wrong about that. He has been even worse.

well it's obvious the difference him not being on the Pistons has made, but I don't know if it's as simple as he's some ballhogging cancer as some have made it out. I wasn't watching Pistons games enough to know the dynamics.

as much as there was the obvious "are they gonna play Josh at the 3/ let him play on the perimeter, that won't end well" comments when he first signed with Detroit, I thought it was a bad fit because he was gonna be "the man". he's already at least a bit delusional about his skills. casting him as the highest paid player/ guy with the most playoff experience (and he may have even been the oldest player on the team) was just gonna make him try to do too much to justify that status. Josh means well (I think, lol), but he ain't that dude.

He was ridiculous last night. Seems that SVG has gotten through to him.

I think it is with Houston. A lot of teams just hit lulls in the season, so I think we should wait to see if it is more of a Josh Smith acquisition or just tired January legs.

Still think promising him a starting position was a really dumb move

I don't know what's more odd this season: Him putting up 21 assists or Mo Williams hitting 50 points

This. Dwight looked so awesome early in the season. He has been pathetic lately.

Yeah. He started like three games. Now he doesn't, and he doesn't seem upset about it. I really wish we'd bench Dwight. The team would win more games and he'd get healthy for the playoffs. Dude has been atrocious.

Dmo is the Rockets best scoring option down low right now. He missed a lot of shots last night, though. Harden can't do it all.

Yup no doubt. I still think we need a true point guard against teams like Golden State. They defend the perimeter too well for James to carry the whole load.
