America's five biggest theater chains have all dropped The Interview from their lineups after a group of anonymous hackers threatened violence against any theater caught screening the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Regal Entertainment, AMC Entertainment, Cinemark, Carmike Cinemas, and Cineplex Entertainment have all pulled the film, which was set to debut on Christmas Day; the movie's New York premiere, which was also threatened, was canceled on Tuesday.

What exactly can they do? I find this absurd.

No, i think it's the over litigation of America. ANYTHING that happend during the showing now could increase the liability on the theaters due to the threat.

A single Korean a-hole could shoot 1-2 people, and their families would own the theater chain.

To a theater exec, no James Franco movie is worth that risk.

If Franco did this he is a dumbass. You realize those are major theaters that have pulled it right? Can't see the movie in Nashville, and I am sure that is how a lot of other big cities are too

I could see those two sitting in recliners, smoking pot, and one of them says, "bro... what if we fricked with ALL OF AMERICA..... Can we pull that off?" They they proceed to discuss how to do it, and then the next day, when that idea is usually gone, they realized they had a genius prank to play on the good old USA.
