Sprint will "cut your cell bill in half" for ATT or Verizon customers. thoughts?

I know nothing about Sprint. ATT and Verizon have great coverage in Arkansas, I don't know about Sprint. Any experiences with them good or bad?

I don't want to change but their deal is amazing -- half off current bill, forever. I don't sell back old phones and I need a new one so it's a great deal.
Or is Sprint trash in rural states like Arkansas?
How's their LTE, etc??? Compared to ATT:Verizon

As a former Sprint and current Verizon customer, I think their motto should be, "Half the bill for half the coverage"

Yeah I was tempted by this, but in cutting your bill in half they'll also cut your coverage/speed in half. Couldn't make the jump.
If you really want cheap phone service, get Straight Talk(and a phone that uses either VW or ATT towers). You'll get the speed of VW/ATT, unlimited data(caps at 3GB) for $45 a month.

I've been seriously considering straight talk, but having 3GB AT&T LTE coverage and unlimited talk/text for $45 a month just seems too good to be true. Been wondering what the catch is, other than no more subsidized phones.

I had it and it was nice. The one issue I held with it was the voicemail setup. It's the old age "press 1 to save, 2 to delete" bullcrap. It's a minor issue for the price, but still annoyed me when my phone was made to do more.
Most any complaint I've seen about ST came from people using a phone on Sprints towers. Well that and how badly they cap you after 3GB.

Sprint has the worst coverage and the way I remember it the data was barely usable but that was 3G only. Don't switch even to save money.

great responses, thanks all around. sounds like it is not great savings for far inferior coverage/speed. Too good to be true. I'll pass !!

IF you have to deal with customer service it's a fricking nightmare. If you can handle basic APN settings or unlocking (if needed) you shouldn't have any problems.
Some areas I'll get as much as 15 down on LTE.
ETA:
Like Buckeye said, when you get throttled you shouldn't even bother trying to get on the internet. Way slower than dial up.
