Ep. 11 was very meh. So he stole some money from the mosque at 14 and some people liked him and some people didn't like him. I really don't have high expectations for the final episode. Maybe SK has been worn down by the popularity of all this. Her early episodes where most of the work was done prior to the series starting were much better. She had a year to prepare for those, but only a week or two for some of these later episodes.

This episode really was just filler. It's losing its "oomph".

The audience has tons of questions that could have been talked about.
Maybe, but a lot of the questions I've seen raised here and other places can be answered by listening to earlier episodes.
I get why she felt the need to address some of the rumors and tips she'd received. The stolen money one was pretty dumb though, but I guess it was one of the only ones she could substantiate and didn't want to muddy the waters with any unsubstantiated ones. I think she should have just tossed that part and focused more on Adnan's letter and his feelings on the production.

That would have been good. Instead she was like, "Oh yeah, and I have this novella-length letter I received, but I'm only going to talk about it for 5 minutes.

I know some people have talked about the attorney that has written the huge screeds about Jay and other aspects of the case. She has a juicy new theory:
butt dial theory
butt dial theory

But why would Jay then go through all this? I personally believe it has to be Jay, Adnan or both (although wouldn't be terribly surprised if Jenn were involved also).

Because Jay knew where the car was located, I've always excluded any theory that involved any outside parties such as a serial killer. A serial killer doing it and Jay's knowledge of where the car was does not go together.

If Jay was perceived as the "criminal element of Woodlawn" it might have been because of who he hung out with outside of school. I would be interested to know more about Phil and Patrick. I just don't see how calling around to your drug dealers for weed takes priority to figuring out how and where to dump a body.

I'm not saying I buy it or I don't, but there's definitely enough there for SK to at least report on it. Unless she's been sitting on it and she has already made a connection between Jay and Roy and is saving it for the finale.
But this is kinda fun:
Listen to everything Jay has said and if you think about every time he's talking about Adnan killing Hae....imagine he's really talking about Roy killing Hae. Roy threatened to hurt Stephanie, Roy said he wanted to kill that bitch. Roy said the bitch is dead. And Roy was powerful enough to do it and Jay would do anything for Stephanie. That is why his story managed to have specific consistencies. All he had to do was change "Roy" to "Adnan". Then imagine when Jay is emotionally apologizing to the courtroom he's really apologizing to Adnan for being a part of it.
And if you ask why Jay hasn't admitted it since Roy is in prison for life. The argument would be that he's just too shamed and afraid to get charged with something. And when he can't believe Adnan hasn't admitted it yet, he just wishes he would to shorten his sentence.
I'm rooting for this.

This ALMOST makes me want to listen to the rest of the episodes to see who Roy is and what is his connection to the story.
But I didn't want to listen to her anymore after episode 2.

What really haunts me if Jay's response to SK's inquiry a couple episodes ago: "if Adnan didn't kill Hae, then who did?"
Is this a question Hae's killer asks?
Is this a question someone who has certain knowledge of Adnan's guilt asks?
It's a sensible question to ask when you didn't witness the killing but you did witness the body in the trunk, him saying he was going to kill her, etc etc.

I don't remember Roy...who was he?
I still think it's very ridiculous that Adnan didn't simply testify. I'm having a hard time giving him a complete pass, although reasonable doubt certainly looks to be easily the case.
I also love this stupid "stole from the mosque" thing. Compare that to the story from Jay's cousin about when he tried to stab him. It was basically done humorously. Just imagine if that had been Adnan (this deranged psychopath once tried to stab his cousin for sport).

Sorry Roy wasn't covered on the show but the subject of this awesome theory I posted above.

Last episode tomorrow. I don't expect a resolution and I don't think she has time to pull everything together. Hopefully I'm surprised and we can at least feel that 12 episodes weren't a waste of everyone's time. It kind of feels like True Detective in that the it had so much potential, but it took the easy way out.
As a bonus, Funny or Die has a good skit on the finale.

No matter how it ends I don't think I would consider it a waste of time as I found myself being more interested in the storytelling. I do think Koenig should have planned the arc of the show a little better although I guess that is the risk in doing a weekly podcast on an ongoing situation. Assuming no significant revelations in the final episode, my only critique would be that it might have been an episode or so too long.

I think given that a complete resolution was possible, they did a very good job wrapping it up today.

idk how I liked that conclusion.. I guess I was expecting some big piece of evidence to come up that would definitely either prove innocence or guilt; it didn't IMO
