I go to get some new boots yesterday and the ones I want they don't have my size. so the girl shows me the same brand but square toe. never been much on square boots and she tells me that's the new thing. so am I just that old or are those the new hipster boots?

No doubt someone will suggest Ariat, but like you, it seems all they make is square toe and I'm not big on them either.

I've always had Tony lamas but I'm looking elsewhere for my next pair. The last pair of TLs I had wore out quickly.

I didn't like the square toe either but they grew on me. Now I have a few pairs of them

I'm a lucchese guy... I like the 1883s. Always try to get made in USA.

Try the cowboy collection, midrange quality between 1883 and classics

Just picked up a pair of ariat ramblers with the round toe and really like them.

Just got these a few months ago and will probably never buy anything but Lucchese again now. They are the most comfortable things I have ever put on my feet.

Just got these as my early Christmas present- took a couple of days to break in, but it love the way they look. I wasn't planning on Lucchese, but the girl gave me 10% off and the wife approved

Not sure about y'all but I bought a pair of Tony Lama ostrich skin with their supposedly fancy comfort sole, they are the most uncomfortable boots ever! They feel like there is a pencil laying crossways under the arch of my foot. Also the label on the top of the pull straps are as rough as sand paper and rubbed my calves to the point of almost bleeding.

Have the same problem with my Tony lamas. Guy told me they would break in. Well after 2 years still feels like a pencil under my foot. Bought some ariats and I'm very happy.

I have three pairs favorites are the ariat rambler square toe - the broken in and worn model - great boots.

what's with the hate on square toe? I don't get it - why does one guy really care what another guy wears and if his boots are square toe?

Funny thing about square toes - when we were in grade school that's all dad bought and wore. We switched to more round toe and he never varied. I did get a pair of the Ariats recently and the square is not as extreme as some I have seen. Very comfortable as well. They will grow on you. Try a pair on and see what you think.

This whole thread is about opinions on boots. My opinion is that square toe boots suck.

I prefer a square toe.. Don't buy boots until you have tried Anderson Bean.
