My BDay weekend w/pics

Saturday got off work that evening and walked into this: cream cheese chocolate cake with chocolate covered strawberries. Add milk and enjoy
She then took me to a few places I've never been to. First, Barrel Proof. I had the Old Man Flight and we shared the nachos.
The first 2 granddad were very similar. The reserve had a sharp sweetness to the tongue. Very good. The nachos were good. I liked how they weren't completely smothered in sauce. The avacados and sharp Parmesan cheese was a creative change to other BBQ nachos I've had.
Moving on, we headed to Chickie Wah Wah on Canal St. We had deviled eggs, Brussels sprouts, and wings.
The eggs were whipped with the house sauce and sprinkled with sea salt. The wings were probably the best I've had in nola. Extremely meaty. They are smoked and tossed in sauce of your choice. I chose buffalo inferno. Ghost chili with hints of I'm guessing cumin. It wasn't the buffalo like I would assume. Def will be back for those. Unfortunately out of respect for Luke Winslow King Band I didn't take a pic of the wings. We were sitting next to the stage. (Btw he's an awesome performer).
At about 11:30 we rolled out and headed to Erin Rose (my home away from home). As I've mentioned plenty, I love Guinness. She loves IPAs, blondes, and ambers. To my surprise, she had two pints of the Guinness. Almost brought a tear to my eye.
Sunday hangover: bacon, egg, cheese sammiches
And yes I baked the bacon. Also had some toast with these assorted beer jellies.
FYI hangovers are a bit easier when the record player is blaring this
We then headed to The Fly. While eavesdropping on snobby Tulane kids brag about their summer homes in the Hamptons I was sipping on some of the finest bubbly
After the bottle was done we did our Saints pregame at Superior Seafood
And a halftime pizza from slice
We won. I passed out. All in all great BDay weekend.

Rooster is a wing flavor over there and hands down the best. I really miss those guys not being uptown, my football season just ain't the same.

Congrats...great pics, unfortunately for me the more fun I'm having the less likely I am to bust out my camera for pics

Looks like an awesome weekend. I love hanging out at the fly, haven't been since late spring/early summer. It's about time I head back.
