They are actually grasshoppers, think they farm them out in Versailles
I only do fresh local grasshoppers. Not that imported shite.
Way to hurt our local grasshopper farmers.
It's a good thing they were not the local gulf grasshoppers. The frozen grasshoppers from Versailles are much preferred.

Are these fricking Chalmette Grasshoppers?
Probably have that amoeba in them. I know what is in the air down there, I put it there.

Don't think so. The besh box thing didn't work. The steakhouse in the casino still there?

has any besh restaurant failed ?
besides the one in the WW2 museum ? which is kind of cloudy on why they didnt renew
American Sector didn't fail. The Museum opted for a more favorable split on the restaurant's revenue.
Also, JS isn't as hyped or as good as Peche. As a diner who has reviewed both places, I was honest in both cases. My Peche review was far more glowing in it's praise. JS has the chance to be the best Mexican restaurant in town, even if that is a low bar. That is an interesting and hopeful prospect. The fact that it could adjust the landscape of Mexican cuisine in NOLA is part of it's hype. IMO.

I was extremely disappointed. Probably won't go back.
Only open for 4 days and were still sitting people at 1230 last night because of the Paul McCartney show. The waitress told us last night they were about to close and then had this massive influx of people. Im sure todays inventory was off a good bit after last night.

. So, you went to a new restaurant once in its opening week and wrote it off for good?
Meh. It just wasn't what I wanted it to be.

Possibly.
BTW, I haven't gone back and counted, but only think there have been a couple of negative reviews. On balance, the reviews have been positive.

Pretty much. And the new incarnation is reportedly very good (contrary to early reports, it's not the same food served in the Dome or at the Convention Center). The executive chef has good experience (local and elsewhere) and is excited about the place.

Went last night and had the best shrimp tacos I've ever had in my life. The pickled onions on them were awesome. Grasshoppers were interesting....similar to the mealworm things you eat at the insectarium. The pitcher of margaritas for $48 was a good deal for the four of us at our table. Next time I've got to try the queso. I heard it was great. Loved the decor----especially the Dia de los Muertos/tattoo style wall and the old cathedral doors. I found the prices excellent for the artistic/creative style food you get.

I agree, the majority of JS reviews have been positive. At this point, Peche was in the process of being annointed GOAT status.

Glad you mentioned that. I was talking to a buddy Friday who used to frequent American Sector but hadn't tried or heard anything about the new space. BTW, does it have a new name? What kind of food are they serving?

as I said earlier, the lamb enchiladas are killer. too dark to see but the mole comprises the entire bottom of the plate.
